Make it Feminine at Allsorts

We've gone all girly this week at

and Lynn has chosen Make it Feminine as the optional theme.

Music to my ears!! I used an Anna Marie Designs paper pad as my starting point, with a shabby, design in mind. I fancied a bit of paper piecing and found that this super cute Crafters companion grey rubber stamp was perfect (Angelica & Friends - Phoebe). She actually takes me back to my childhood when I used to dress up in my Mum's navy blue patent dancing sling backs!! Nylon nighties were very en vogue in the 70's too and I seem to recall a layered peach number that was a favourite!! I wonder what happened to that nightdress of my Mums!!?

I coloured her with Promarkers and gave her a spotty T shirt and a string of pearls too. The sentiments were from the same set. I made a little "cluster" for the top left corner and cut the tags with a Whimsy Label die. Given that Mothers Day is coming up I will probably give this to my Mum and see if it jogs her memory about the little girl that used to totter around in her nightie and sandals!!

If you have stayed with me this long I should say that there are

Two prizes from Stamp Addicts, stamps and stencils

so well worth an entry or two.

Whatever you are up to I hope you have a good weekend.

See you soon xx

  6. Hi Sarah
    What a lovely image/finished card .. .. just beautiful.
You made me smile talking about dressing up and wearing your Mum's shoes.
As kids me and my sister were never allowed to wear Mum's shoes "in case we fell and broke our necks!!!" LOL!!!
.. .. .. we weren't allowed to stand on chairs either!!
Wearing shoes with a heel on nowadays is quite rare for me .. .. but when I do I love the noise they make as I walk, and always say to hubby "I am wearing my grown up shoes today".
Mmmm ... memory lane. Such a lovely place.
Hope you have a good weekend.
    Love Jules xoxo

  7. Your card is such a charming walk down memory lane. The vintage-inspired design and the personal story about your childhood make it truly special. I love the attention to detail, from the paper piecing to the spotty T-shirt and pearls. The sentiment and cluster add a lovely finishing touch, and I’m sure your mum will adore this thoughtful gesture!
