AYLI Flowers

Hello lovely people, its me again!!
This time with my fortnightly DT inspiration for

The theme this time is Favourite Flowers.

I have so many, including daisies, sunflowers and my current favourite favourite...hyacinths, if they count as flowers!!

However, I have used roses for the purpose of this challenge. They are available in many different types and colours and the fragrances vary from one variety to another, my absolute favourite being "Blue Moon" which takes me right back to my childhood garden making perfume, with my Sister, from the petals , much to Dad's horror!!

I used Hand Stitched by Neat and Tangled, together with more Doodlebug designs paper for the background and some black gems to finish off.

I really hope you will join us.

I will leave you with the blooms that are currently on my kitchen table!!

See you soon xx

  12. What a lovely post. I too remember making rose petal perfume with a friend of mine. We even designed some packaging for it and thought that we’d make our fortunes selling it (how wonderfully nieve we were at seve
n! :). My favourite rose now is the ‘Peace Rose.’ It’s a lovely mix of yellow and pink. Wishing you a Happy Easter Sarah x

  14. Oh, I bet your kitchen smells heavenly. I always like to have a few of the bulbs blooming just now (our white ones just frizzled up & I like to buy them before the blooms appear). You can always smell them when you walk in the kitchen, but yet it's not a 'strong' scent. We had a blue rose in our rose garden, but when it finally got blooms, it was more of a lavender really, still pretty. A hybrid, so not much of a scent. The one that smells like a 'real rose' is the native rose bush that came from my Mom's home place and was a wild rose. The blossoms don't last long, but oh do they have the most wonderful fragrance. It has greened up, but no buds yet. I love this beautiful warm floral card in the strong colors. It's very CAS, also very striking. And I consider hyacinths flowers too! TFS & Happy Easter.

  16. A lovely CAS card Sarah! Love the cross stitch hoop image. As I used to do loads of cross stitch before losing most of the feeling in my hands this would have been the perfect card for me. The bright paper is a great choice. Debra x

  27. I used to use rose petals too when I was young. I remember taking them from the flower and lining them all up because they were so pretty.
I love this card Sarah. It's beauty is in the simplicity of it, nothing to clutter up the card, just a terrific image, great sentiment and some pretty but not too busy paper.
