Hello crafters, I have a floral number to share with you today.
Favourite Flower is our theme at AYLI this time.
I love these little white beacons of hope when they appear in our lane. It is a hint that spring is on the way!! The clumps we have were given to us by a lovely lady whose horses were some of our first guests when we opened our stable doors at Mallows Farm. Jenny was a formidable lady, as round as she was tall, a brilliant horsewoman who taught me a lot actually but at the same time scared the living daylights out of me!! Horses and dogs were her passion and sadly while walking her dogs one day suffered a heart attack and was found with Pumpkin, Juniper and Gingham watching over her. She had a lovely garden and most seasons split something for us to plant that we now have here forever. Sorry...that was a bit of a tear jerker wasn't it!?
The stamp and sentiment is from a Clearly Besotted set that I heat embossed with white powder. The leaves and stems were coloured with Promarkers and the flower heads with white Lyra pencil and a touch of white Sakura pen.
It would be lovely to see your favourite flowers if you join in.
Stunning card Sarah, love the colouring on kraft and the fabulous papers used..x
ReplyDeleteI love seeing my snowdrops in bloom for such a delicate looking flower they are really hardy, a beautiful card Sarah with touching memories of Jenny
ReplyDeleteLove those snowdrops too Sarah, sad about your friend but a fab memorial to her.
ReplyDeleteI dug up some from our last house when we started the renovation and planted them at the top of the drive, I always look for them and am amazed how quickly they spread their gorgeousness. They even survived the 'attentions' of the Rail Track contractors and the neighbours tractor turning! :)
Such a pretty card Sarah, beautiful snowdrops and such a lovely story, even if it is rather sad.

How pretty your Snowdrops look on Kraft Sarah, never occurred to me to use that when I did my CB Snowdrop samples last month. Your friend sounds very much like the lady who used to run our local kennels, very formable but knew her stuff and made a great friend.
