Anything Goes at AYLI

It's a free for all at the AYLI party this time and I have made a paper decoration using a lovely tutorial from Created the Ottaway, where you can find lots of inspiration.

I confess, the construction had me scratching my head for a while, but after a roast chicken lunch and a glass of white I had another go and, I think, the wine just helped a little!!

One thing I would say, if you are tempted to have a go, is that it works better with fairly thin paper. My first attempt was using double sided scrapbook paper and folding it was tricky. I used single sided papers from an inexpensive paper pack which actually worked much better.

Thank you for dropping in today and I hope you have been inspired to come to our Anything Goes party.

See you on Saturday xx

A Pink Poinsettia

Hello friends. As it's the last challenge of the year we have an

Anything Goes for Christmas theme at

My long suffering standing followers will know that each Christmas I make a little gift for my colleagues. This year it is the turn of cross stitch and I have been beavering away stitching motifs to go inside a three or four inch hoop. I have found them to be lovely little projects to do in the afternoon light. I found that my daylight lamp gave me migraine so had to give up stitching in the evening.

One of my colleagues LOVES pink so I did a pretty pink one for her.

That's the artistic shot out of the way...the reality is this....six more to press and put in the hoops. Still, I do have a couple of weeks yet so I am sure to get it done in time!!

If you have time it would lovely to see your Anything Goes for Christmas makes at the challenge where you can be sure of a warm welcome!!

Bye for now xx

Treats for the reindeer!!

Hello everyone. it's been a while hasn't it!? I hope you all had a peaceful Christmas and I am sincerely Wishing you good health and brighter days ahead in 2021!! After a personally difficult  last year I was pretty optimistic about the New Year...what a start though!!

I haven't had chance to do very much crafting over the festive period but at the weekend had a little mooch to see what inspired me and am taking these bags of reindeer food along to a couple of Christmas challenges!!

I made some of these a few years ago and actually mislaid the stamp set. I was delighted to rediscover it while I was looking through my fabric!! It is a set from Alley Way Stamps and I can't even remember where I bought them from. I have a sneaking suspicion it may have been from Kitty at My Mum's Craft Shop, remember that?!

The deer were stamped and coloured with Promarkers and I added Tonic glitter drops for the noses. The verse is part of the set that was stamped on to Daisy Mae Designs Arch Dies that made perfect tags. Of course it's not real reindeer food, it's bird seed but the littleys didn't know that!!

I am joining in here

Winter Wonderland - Christmas Sweet Treats (for deer!!)

So, that's me for today. I have several DT pieces in the pipe line but as we are now rolling out the Covid vaccine, I suspect my working life may just become a little more manic and that I shall disappear once more!!

Until next time, take care of yourselves xx

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Hello again!! More Cutie inspiration for you, this time

where we are saying "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and would love to see your Cutie Christmas cards inspired by a Christmas song or carol.

Mine is Frosty the Snowman

I used glitter paste through a snowflake stencil for the background that, on it's own, looked a little bit bare so I had a rummage through my die cuts and found a little house scene that was a freebie from Dies to Die For. The little snowman is from a Cats Pajamas set and was coloured with Promarkers.

While on the subject of Frosty, you may remember that I was planning to make sock snowmen, well here is the first!!

I was really pleased with the result, there are loads of tutorials on You Tube if you would like to have a go, it was really easy to do but be warned, you need LOTS of rice!!

So, that is me for today. I hope this week will be a good one for you. Thak you for popping in to see me, your comments and support are much appreciated xx
