AYLI Embossing

Hello, hello. I hope you are all doing OK.

I am here today with my DT inspiration for

The prompt this time is your Favourite Embossing method.

I am an enormous fan of heat embossing and still watch in awe as the powder melts.

For this little collection of Christmas cards I used the plaid paper as my starting point. I think it it was quite possibly from Dovecrafts Little Red Robin paper pack.

I stuck the papers on the card blanks and had a rummage through my christmas stamps. This set is from Crafters Companion Sara Signature Scandinavian Christmas Collection (probably still available somewhere!!)

I die cut some postage stamp edged rectangles (a shameful unbranded purchase on ebay) and stamped away. I used red, white and green embossing powders that are probably twenty years old and they still worked brilliantly. More Christmas cards to go on the pile.

See you soon xx

Mia

It's Sasayaki Glitter shout out time again and I have the pleasure of sharing Mia with you this time. As with all of Naz's fantastic artwork she was a pleasure to colour, the open spaces make it so easy and, as usual, colored with Promarkers to match the Dovecraft papers. I chose another of Jules's Sketches, number thirteen this time.

While I'm here I should mention that the June challenge is open here and the theme is Male Cards, so link up any male cards this month for the chance to win some brilliant digi stamps.

How much is that doggy in the window?

Morning friends. Nearly the weekend again and a busy one ahead for us...weather permitting.

Anyway, the reason I am here is to encourage you to join in with our latest challenge at

and this time we would love to see a project using your Favourite Animal.

Those of you that visit often know that I love dogs, cats, horses...in fact most animals (except rats after a rather unpleasant experience) so I chose to go with dogs. However, on close inspection of my HUGE stamp collection discovered that I do not own a dog stamp...until I remembered a set that came free with a magazine so I rescued it and did this...

The front

and inside

This card was made for a Friend who has recently welcomed a rescue Rottweiler into her home...I know...the image is a Westie but Marion loves all dogs so it will do the trick, I hope!! EDIT: She loved it and Roxy is settling in well.
The cheeky little mutt was coloured using my pencils and the papers are from a pack by Dovecraft Leyton

Hope you will find the time to join us.

I am afraid that time has run away with me this week so my blogging time has been in short supply, I hope that if it rains on Friday ( as forecast) I can grab some time and catch up with you all!!

See you soon xx

What's your favourite layout?

Happy Thursday everyone, it'll soon be the weekend and a lovely long one here in the UK. Added to that my month long spell of holiday cover at work is over so that means that I shall be visiting  you all more often!!

Anyway, I am actually here to shout about the new challenge starting today at

As You Like It and we are inviting you to join us and share

Your Favourite Layout...here's mine (at the moment!!)

I have been really enjoying sketches at the moment, particularly Jules' at Always With A Heart. This gem is #6 from her ever growing collection and I especially like this layout as it showcases the patterned papers beautifully, in this case Dovecraft More or Less. I dug out my The Ca't Pajamas stamps and chose to use this one "A Girl and her Cake". She was coloured with Promarkers to match the papers.

Top Tip GDT

Hello lovely people of blogland. Thank you for coming to see me today.

I can't lie, I am super excited to have been invited to be Guest Designer at Top Tip Tuesday so a HUGE thank you to Samantha for asking me!! A new challenge is starting today and

It's all about the hair colour.

Those of you who have been visiting for a while will know that I don't "do" hair very often or should I say hair that needs definition. Anyway not one to buckle under the stress I chose the beautiful, yet challenging, Aurora Floral Kiss  and this is the result.

Using Promarkers I coloured her and the seam binding to match the paper .

I used Diamond stickles and my Stardust Gelly roll pen to add a little bling to her pretty floral headdress
Part of my duties are to include a tip and here is one that I use every time I colour.

Whenever I buy a new paper pad/digi collection I get out my Promarkers and make a swatch and write the names of the colours that are the best match and stick it to the cover. In the case of a digi collection I write it in a little note book that I have for the purpose. I  then prepare a couple of card layouts so that when the time comes all I have to do is colour up the chosen stamped image using my colour guide. It means that there is no hunting around for suitable papers or colour matches after colouring your image and you will always have a perfect match.

I would like to enter these challenges

Allsorts #312  - Happy 6th Birthday Allsorts
A Gem Of A Challenge #145 - Flowers

Delightful doilies

Hello my crafty friends I hope you are well and raring to start another week.

I am here to share my card for the new challenge at

The Cutie Pie Challenge

new style blog badge

The theme this time is Delightful Doilies and here is my card

I used a stamp by one of our sponsors Crafty Sentiments and coloured her with Promarkers to compliment the pretty papers ( I wrestled with myself for soooo long not to get these but couldn't resist any longer!!) which I also used to stamp  the sentiment on to, the tab and also the flowers. I finished it off with a knotted length of seam binding from our other fabulous sponsor Crafty Ribbons. The doily is actually a die cut piece of cream parchment, using another of my dies that haven't seen the light of day for a very long time!!

I am entering these challenges

The Crafting Cafe - Favourite technique (colouring)
Lil patch of Crafty Friends #3 - Anything Goes
Not Just CArds #12 - Anything Goes
Crafts & Me  #153 - Add a Ribbon
Creative Fingers #66 - Anything Goes

Hope you will find time to dig out your doilies (and your cute images) and join us, you'd be most welcome!!

Maggie

Hello crafters, lovely to see you on this dismal Saturday. I managed to get a little time to play with some new  stash and in the absence of Mr Mojo, called for the help in the form of a LOTV sketch, they always do the trick!!

The layout was made up with papers from my Curiosity Corner paper pack and darling Maggie coloured with Promarkers to match. IO butterflies cut in the same paper and some butterfly ribbon
to finish off.

A challenge or two...

Crafting Cafe - Lots of Layers
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Sweet Stampin' - Girly but no pink
The Sugar Bowl #120 - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals Corner #1 - Anything Goes

Better look lively and do something productive before the Hubster gets home from work!!
Have a good weekend and for those of you suffering bad weather, stay safe xx
