I can't believe I haven't posted anything for almost a week and there is really no excuse but for the fact I am on annual leave this week and have found outside jobs to occupy me. However a couple of challenges tickled my fancy so last night I had a little play with some stamp sets and an embossing folder that came with magazines and made this.
I am quite shocked that it's mine actually and I did struggle to do something out of the norm, but, I am really quite pleased. The tag was hand cut from the same milk coloured card as the base and then embossed. It looked a bit bland so I got out the old Versamark ink pad and dusted the raised areas with cosmic shimmer powder and added some gems. The sentiment was stamped in London fog to match the paper.
The large butterly (also a freebie Indigo Blu I think) was stamped onto more patterned paper and then...wait for it....I used crackle glaze over the top!! The bottle has been sat on my desk for years and that was the first time I had opened it. This picture actually shows the cracks quite nicely and if you look really closely I did manage to capture the shimmer on camera. Some shabby ribbon and a little charm were the finishing touches I chose.
These challenges were the inspiration behind this card

This is lovely Sarah, very pretty and it's great to create something a little different to our usual styles and challenge ourselves isn't it? I can see that crackle glaze bottle being used a few more times from now on.

This is lovely! I'm rubbish with tags, so this one really grabbed my eyes, especially liked the embossing on it - with the pretty lace. Also the nice bkgrnd dp. The butterfly is gorgeous, and when it's enlarged, you can really see the cracks & shimmer. This is SO very lovely! Glad you had some fresh air time, and hope you got lots of chores accomplished. Will soon be B. Fair time! TFS & Hugs

Such a pretty card Sarah! You ventured down the road of some techniques I haven't yet dared to try :)
I didn't like to say in the post about Max's excavator card that his Daddy is a builder in the family business and has his own JCB - which he sometimes trundles home in if it's likely to be unattended on site over a weekend. Always makes me giggle as it's certainly a different way to 'commute'. As you know, they're horrendously expensive, hence not wanting it to be vandalised or stolen from a site. Little Max trots out and helps Daddy to wash it - of course he only comes halfway up the wheels :) And some of the little boys nearby are sooooooo envious too.
