Non card project

Thursday fortnight has duly rolled around again and I am delighted to be here to shout about the latest challenge at

This time we would love to see a Non card  project.

This time I have put my crochet hooks away, in favour of my skeins of cross stitch thread and aida. My crafty journey evolved via cross stitch actually. I used to buy American cross stitch magazines from an independent newsagent, probably 25 years ago, and made many samplers and such before branching out into stitched greeting cards which soon manifested into a papercrafting obsession!!

One of my lovely work colleagues has just left us in order to move closer to their family and I wanted to make her something to keep and display in her new home. This is the result...

Using a pattern from here (visit with an open mind...there are some "different" designs too!!) and colours from my own thread collection.

Jacqui was very pleased with it and assures me it will take pride of place in their new home, when they find one.

I am very much looking forward to seeing your non card projects.

Until next time xx

Cute Snowmen

Hello lovely peeps. A day off for the UK workers, if you are lucky enough, and the last one until  Christmas...eeeeek!! Which brings me nicely to my blog post for today, a new challenge at...

It's (perfect for you Marianne!! ) Cute Snowmen

I used an image from our Sponsor. Very little colouring really but done, nonetheless, with Promarkers. Glamour Dust supplied the frosty snow  and the sentiment was made using a new set from Crafters Companion. Nicely CAS actually!!

My time to craft  #378 - Christmas in August

If you are in the UK I hope you will be enjoying our August Bank Holiday. It was a tad wet here in Dorset yesterday but it looks like a dry one today so I will be out in the garden I think...better than my usual Monday at work!!

See you later in the week with some cross stitch xx

Black and white +1

Black and white and one other...that is the question at

I used a sweet image from our sponsor

I used pink as my other colour as I always think it looks particularly good with black and white.  I also dusted off my Presscut stepper die, which hasn't seen the light of day for a little while. The little ditzy print is an old Pink Petticoat (The Lovely Studio) printable paper. She was, of course, coloured with Promarkers...so much for me utilising other stash!!

Hope you are having a good week and looking forward to the weekend.

See you soon xx

Sporting Cuties

Hello friends, hope you are well and had a good weekend. We took a drive down to the coast for a spot of breakfast and a walk which we enjoyed. Anyway, today is the start of the new challenge at

The theme is SPORTING CUTIES and I used this sweet image from LOTV getting ready to tack up her pony.

I used Tonic scalloped dies for the card base (and layers) to make a rocker card for a change.

Speaking of ponies...here is Surprise tucking into her current favourite thing...ice lollies!! Mint tea with carrot and apple. Martin was horrified when he noticed the first one in the freezer!!

She might be a little bit disappointed not to get more as
I don't think the temperatures are going to peak again any time soon because yay...we have had rain and lots of it. Looks like the rain dancing worked!!

I look forward to seeing your Sporting Cuties.

Thank you for your visit xx

More forgotten LOTV

Hello all. I hope you are well and, if not, that you soon will be.

I must apologise for not doing so well with my visiting of late, but we have been making the most of it, while the weather has been good, and taking care of some outdoor jobs.  Still, I am here now to share another rediscovered rubber stamp that was hiding away. This one is from Lili of the Valley. I love this little pair of sweet girls. They were coloured with Promarkers and the papers came from The Range.

I had a fancy for an easel card for a change. The sentiment came from a Purple Onion set that was a gift. I was lucky to find some little buttons that matched the hat perfectly...how I love coordination!!

Well, the grass is looking much greener today, thanks to some showers overnight. The horses are doing very well and actually manage on very little, but it will still be nice to have a bit more grass for them when the autumn and winter come. I am sure Mother Nature will redress the balance.

Whatever the weather where you are, stay well xx

Feathers or Fur at AYLI

Hello peeps. How are you all doing? Time has a way of slipping by at this time of year and I couldn't believe that it's been so long since I posted. Anyway here I am with some inspiration for you.

Feathers or Fur is the theme for the new challenge at

It is fur all the way for me. Feathery things terrify me, especially if they are flying around my head!! When we were farming I did have a dozen hens that were kept in an old outhouse. They roosted up high and I would not go in to collect the eggs and let them out until they were all safely on the floor...scary!!

Anyway here is my card featuring two furry pups.

I used a Marianne Designs die set for the heart, and coloured the sweet little lady and her pups with Promarkers to compliment the papers.

That's me for now. Hope to see you join us with your feathery or furry makes!!

Until next time, take care xx
