AYLI...what else can you do??!!

Hello everyone!! A big oops from me and apologies to my team mates at

I forgot to schedule my own post for our new challenge which is

What do you make other than cards...and why?

I have dabbled in all kinds of crafts including sewing, knitting, embroidery, jewellery making and cross stitch and over the last few years I have taught myself to crochet. My current "work in progress" is my biggest piece to date...a blanket. I am just about half way through the blanket itself and then have a pretty border to add so I reckon it will be keeping us warm at night by next winter!! I have taken much inspiration from Lucy at Attic 24 so if crochet is something that you fancy having a go at then I highly recommend her easy to follow patterns and informative blog to get you started.

The kit for my blanket can be found here.

Check out the main challenge blog for some  inspiration  from my team mates. Hope to see you there, if I'm not sacked that is!!

Hope this week is being kind to you and that you have stayed safe during storm Doris that visited the UK today.

Until next time xx

Oh, wow! This looks gorgeous and so colourful. I can't wait to see it finished. Definitely something to treasure. I really wish I could learn to crochet but I can't feel the yarn or needle much. Ah well, on with the card making 🙂. Debra x

Gorgeous work Sarah l can see this being a family heirloom.
i have been dabbling a bit too lately, at a little group l go to every other wednesday we take our own crafts or projects, have a natter and a cuppa but this week most of us had a go at wet felting so watch this space for a masterpiece - not - in the future. Also half way through a patchwork table runner - my first attempt at patchwork and loving it.
Take care x Susan x

Oooh your blanket looks fab Sarah! I haven't crocheted for years and years, but I quite fancy having a go at making a throw for the bed in the spare room . Off to check out Lucy's blog, thanks for the link... :)

So colorful, and I love your neat stitches too. Years ago, I tried to learn to crochet. Can manage a triple stitch, but I'm lousy at following pattern instructions. Had a Home Economics teacher for a neighbor, who worked diligently with me, as I wanted to learn to do some 'star shaped' doilies to starch and use for tree ornaments. She finally gave up in disgust and said "I'll make what you want. Just show me the pattern". End of story! LOL. This is beautiful, and what enjoyment you'll have being all cozy under it. the cheery colors will be bright on dreary winter days. TFS & Hugs
