Festive fabrics

Hello everyone, hope you are well today, if not then I hope there are better days ahead.

Well, the long awaited rain finally arrived and we had a pretty horrid weekend. I could bear the pleading faces of the ponies no longer and brought them in for a couple of nights (that sounds like I had them in the house!! Really... I didn't!!). Aren't the mornings and nights getting darker too? Had to happen some time I suppose!!

Anyway, while looking for fabrics to make some face coverings I found some lovely Christmas fabrics and felt so made some decorations. I hope that they will inspire you to join in at

As You Like It Challenge

where we are inviting you to share your Non-Card projects, with a little explanation of course.

I also discovered polystyrene balls in my stash so decided on a rag decoration. This bauble was relatively quick and easy. I started with 2" squares of fabric and poked them into the polystyrene using the non hook end of a crochet hook.

For this little felt ornament I took inspiration from Marianne who shares gorgeous handsewn decorations. I die cut the felt and then simply embroidered a snowflake freestyle (the wonkiness adds some charm I feel!!). I brushed up on my blanket stitch and stuck on a bow and ribbon hanger.

I have gingerbread men waiting to be stitched too so watch out for those.

That's all for today folks. Stay Safe xx

Our boys had the same sorry faces at the weekend, Anysia's retort was they are fine but they sure didn't think so.

Very creative makes today Sarah.

Stunning decorations I just adore them so much I’m still thinking about the poor ponies in that rain and how kind you were to give them a dry place Love and hugs Carole x

Fab ornaments and the first is a great way to use up your quilting scraps too!
Had all my fabric out to root around for some suitable for mask making, the OH can't use the over the ear variety as it tangles with his glasses and hearing aids!!! Made him one with full elastic but I need to make some more now that elastic is available around here.
Keep safe. :)

I have such a weird sense of humour, the only image I had in my head after reading your opening paragraph was... all the ponies sat around a pine kitchen table with a roaring fire drinking mugs of hot chocolate, see... anyway I love a little bit of felt with blanket stitches in a contrasting colour and its so magical to see homemade decorations, these are a fabulous keepsakes x

Your Christmas decorations are so festive, Sarah. They're are going to add cheer to wherever you hang them. Love them both! Sorry I haven't been around much. Life took over and is not leaving me much time to visit. I'm hoping it will settle down again soon and then I can spend more time visiting my bloggie friends. Take care and stay safe. Hugs ~ Lena
