Favourite Animal that can be a Pet

I have been fortunate to have New Forest Ponies in my life for 25 years and at 32 Surprise has been there to supervise lots of events. She knows all my secrets and has been a huge support through good times and bad. Wills has taken her place as riding pony since her forced retirement, two and a bit years ago, and at 11 years old will be my last. If he ages as well as Surprise I will be well into my 70's!!

Why is she going on about her animals I hear you cry...well it's new challenge day at

As You Like It Challenge

and we would love to see a project featuring your favourite animal that can be a pet with a little explanation why and, on this occasion, would really like to see a picture of your pet too.

The image I used here is a freebie from Making Cards that I coloured with my Promarkers to compliment the rustic papers from Crafters Companion. I also discovered some rustic style stringy stuff and seed heads that went really well with the hessian ribbon. The message on the pin was part of a journalling kit that I had left over and fitted just right.

and here they are Wills on the left and my darling Surprise on the right

I think she is sticking her tongue out in this one!! She might be an antique pony but is still as cheeky as ever!!

It would be wrong of me to exclude my other hairy kids so here are Bowie and Bumble too doing their best sealion impersonation after a very wet walk!!

Can't wait to see your projects and photos xx

Love your stringy bit Sarah, goes really well with that style, lovely card! I wish Max would stay still long enough in a towel for me to dry him, he prefers the DIY approach, usually the lounge carpet if I don't snag him first!! :)

A fabulous card Sarah, a great image and I love the rustic feel.
Great photographs of your horses and the dogs, I don't think our labs would pose like that, we tried to get Ramsey to wear a Christmas hat one year, he just wrecked it!

A super textural card Sarah but those four legged friends steal the show. Surprise is doing really well at 32, Ben is now 24 and still enjoys a gentle hack out.

Hi Sarah, that is a great card - love the textures, flowers and the image is fab, plus your ponies are adorable.

It has to be said though - the doggo-lions steal the show! That has got to be the cutest picture ever! I wish I could get my darn cats to do something as cute, they see me coming with the camera and then you can't see them for how fast they move!

Your horses are lovely, Sarah, but your "sea lions" are adorable in this photo :-) Their expressions are too funny. I had no idea how long New Forest Ponies lived - what a blessing to have a pet in your life for that many years. And now to your card which absolutely gorgeous. Love the sweet image. Your papers and embellies are beautiful. Love everything about it. I can see a scrapbook page very similar to your card but then with your sweet ponies as the focal point. Card of page, it's stunning!
Have a great day and stay safe and healthy.
