Mouse in the House

Good morning you lovely peeps and I hope you are well today.

Now, I am really hoping you will join us for something totally different at

We do try to encourage you to think "out of the box" and our theme this fortnight is certainly going to do that!! We would like you to create something using an object as your inspiration, that is something you can see and touch.

My eldest son and his Girlfriend were trawling through old photograph albums and scrapbooks (laughing regularly at Martin and I in the 80's!!) a while ago and came across this picture...

...it's me on my 1st Birthday and the dress I am wearing was hand knitted by my Grandma. Knitting has passed down the generations and my Mum is also an extraordinarily talented knitter. Me?...well, not so much but I can hold a pair of needles and do a mean stocking stitch. So this is what I made...

It was two fold inspiration really as Kim (Tillys Crafts) blogged a fabulous knitted rabbit a couple of weeks ago and I just had to go visit the source of her pattern (Mary Jane's Tearoom) and came away with the pattern for Fifi!!

PLEASE pop over and have a look at the fantastic array of inspirational goodies that my team mates have produced and get your thinking caps on!!

Have a lovely day and see you soon xx

This brought a smile Sarah, classic fashion of the mid 90's, I have a photo just the same. Lovely knitted bunny, I never could get the hang of knitting yet my Mum like yours does beautiful work.

A super old photo and some fabulous knitting. Thats a very cute mouse. I'm not the best of knitters, I can do it, but slowly, so set me a challenge now & I'll complete in 6 months! Jx

Oh she is just gorgeous hun - is there no end to your talents? I can knit and pearl, but only if someone casts on for me, and as for shaping, forget it, lol. Loving this cute little mouse, she is adorably perfect. Hugs xx

Wow Sarah, that's fab! I'm not a knitter at all. I knitted my dad a scarf when I was little, and it started off normal size at one end, and ended up very narrow at the other... I may have dropped a stitch or two! lol. But I love this. She's so adorable! x

Awwwww, Sarah, look at you! What a sweetie! I have a very similar picture of myself at 18 months in a dress knitted for me by my aunt! At 83 she is still an amazing knitter, specialising in toys! I see that you could give her a serious run for her money. Fifi (great name) is fab! Love the little bows on her head and shoes. xx

Hi Sarah - another one who loves the adorable little mouse!!! Normally I would run a mile from a mouse type creature (I have a really serious phobia with rodents - could tell you some stories!!) but this one I could quite happily cope with! ;-)

Fab picture of you as well - can't imagine what my Emily is going to say when she sees pictures of me from when I was young - growing up in the 70s/80s was not exactly the height of fashionable times!!
