I was asked by one of my regular customers to make a Birthday card for her Sister. I am still rummaging in my stash and decided to use one of the free downloads from Making Cards.
This ties in rather nicely with the new challenge at
Which is buttons or ribbon (remember to tell us why)
My "go to" finishing touch is definitely ribbon. When seam binding first became fashionable I think I bought every available colour and still have masses in my vast collection. It's so easy to tie into a perfect bow and always looks amazing. These days though I buy white and colour with alcohol markers as necessary!!

It is much larger than I would usually make (A5) so I filled it out a bit with complimentary coloured mats and cut a doily using my Gemini. The sentiments were stamped using stamps from a couple of free sets, so a freebie all round, except for the seam binding.
We are still without rain in our part of the UK. I am actually missing mowing my lawn now and all Bowie and Bumble's favourite streams, except one, have dried up. They do have a paddling pool but won't use it so it is becoming very useful for me on extremely hot days!! It has been a little cooler the last couple of mornings so Surprise and I enjoyed an hour out and about yesterday. Looks like it's hotting up again at the weekend though.
Have a good one when you get there xx

I’ll have a cup of tea any time Sarah, especially out of a cup that’s this pretty. The colours are gorgeous and the pink and mint green work so well together, it’s a beautiful card. Crafty hugs, Sandra x
What a lovely feminine creation Sarah and such a good idea with the glossy accents/glitter around the rims.
It's 40 days withet rain here and so, so, dry with huge cracks opening up in the lawn and paddocks. And the hay harvest is alreay being fed to the boys, unheard of in recent years so early in the season.

Love the fab image,a gorgeous card.xxx
Very pretty Sarah, sure your customer will be really pleased with it.
Hope you aren't too frazzled down there, hot today here but showers, occasionally heavy forecast for tomorrow!
Think it will be awhile until you see my name in the yellow book, lots more to do.
Had the RPA lady here until late yesterday and she's coming back this aft to 'find' our 'missing' fields on the map! Al up late getting his head around NVZ calcs. Keep cool. :)
perfect cuppa card, love the delicate china and rose papers
A lovely card Sarah. I love the aqua blue colour. Hope it cools down soon, the heat is making me feel so tired and therefore grumpy!
A beautiful card Sarah, a pretty image and lovely colours.

Fabulous card, Sarah! The colors are gorgeous. Thanks for joining the Double D, "Tea or Coffee" Challenge!
Neither myself or my hubby drink tea but the cups are so pretty. Love the design too. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Carol S.xx
Gorgeous card Sarah! Just love the glittered cups and macarons (or macaroons depending on your stance on their names :D). Lovely matching doily and beautifully tied ribbon too.
Glad to hear you and surprise managed a ride out. Debra x
Hi Sarah,
what a very lovely card and I love that image and your colouring is brilliant.
Love the colour choices and that doily.
The glizty bits look so beautiful too.
Yes we too are with out rain in my part of Kent.
Was having trouble with blog comments yesterday it wouldn't let me comment.
A fab card Sarah, love the chintzy paper to go with the cups x

Such a gorgeous card Sarah, pretty colors and beautiful design, love it. x
So pretty Sarah, the stacked teacups look brilliant and I like the added sparkle around the rim, that's a nice touch complete with yummy macaroons x
Oh this is lovely Sarah. Great image and the soft colours are so pretty. Have a good weekend and stay cool. xx
What a soft and pretty card Sarah, and that lovely teaset reminds me of my Grandma's china set. The sparkle at the cup rims was gilded on her set but otherwise, it's a dead ringer!! I could just fancy a macaroon.
The lack of rain continues near us too and we have a hosepipe ban starting next week.
Have a good weekend.
Hugs

Such a pretty card, love your teacups
Hope you and your critters are sticking the heat OK - we're not just so hot and have had a few showers. The grass is actually growing again, much nicer than a scorched lawn :)
Sarah, this is SO beautiful! I love the beautiful colour palette, that doily is gorgeous! The teacups look amazing with that lil' touch of sparkle around the rims. I seriously want a Macaron now too! LOL. Stunning card hun. Amazing freebies too! Hugs, Wends xoxo
Hello Sarah: I was just checking the winner's post for the Double D Challenge and, when I saw your gorgeous card, I was immediately amazed and delighted with this lovely image of the tea cups, the sweet color combination and the beautiful pattern paper. You mentioned that you got a free download from a place called "Making Cards" so I was wondering if you could tell me which image is the one you used to create this amazing card.
Thank you in advance for this information and thank you also for sharing your beautiful card.
Big Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.
I only bought the white seam binding too, and colored with reinkers, distress inks, etc. It's very versatile, but I seldom think to use ribbons! Looks very pretty with these lovely porcelain cups and the delicate doily. I really like the tiny rosebud paper - looks so pretty with the aqua & pink colors. The silver sparkle on the teacups looks very 'posh' too! TFS
