Brighter Days

I have a colourful creation to brighten the start of your week...I hope!!

I rummaged in the scrap box for rainbow coloured card and then punched flowers and added a matching button. The sentiment was done on the computer using Simply Glamorous font.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy. It was really hard not to add anything more and I'm glad I didn't!!

Embossing

Hello everyone. I have my DT card today for

As You Like It Challenge where the theme is 

Embossing...wet or dry? (Don't forget to tell us why)

 My "go to" type has to be dry, in the form of embossing folders. I still can't quite get over the transformation that happens to a plain piece of card by squishing it between a plastic folder...incredible!!  

Our sponsor is Crafty Sentiments and I chose to use a rubber stamp from the Warm Summer Days set that I coloured with my Promarkers to compliment the freebie papers. Both the sentiment and the greeting embossing folders were free with magazines and the ribbon from my stash.

I glittered up the sweet little blooms with stardust stickles and used a Versamark embossing pen and heat embossed clear powder to give an enamel effect to the watering can

A lampshade...whatever next?!!

Hello my crafty friends I have a late finish at work tonight :0( 

 which means a late start this morning :0), so Surprise and I have been out and about disturbing the pheasants and bunnies of Dorset and I've even found time to post my latest creation which is.....

ta dah....a lamp!!

Don't laugh...I decided that I really should make use of the CC Sweet Treats embossing boards and CD rom (that have been collecting dust for quite some time!!) and intended to make a popcorn box. However, when I had it turned upside down to glue the crochet lace and  pearls in place inspiration struck and it became a lamp!! Little Maggie got another outing and a pretty pink paper pieced dress using the opposite side of the paper scrap.

Here is a shot to show the inked edges and dodgy gluing!!










Lucky there are a few perfect challenges to enter at the moment...

Happy Birthday to Moo

Hello everyone and thank you for visiting today.

Hope you are enjoying good weather wherever you are in the world. We are bathed in sunshine as I type this although the easterly wind is rather fresh. Anyway on to my card...

I was really lucky last month and won  Digistamp Boutique Customer Competition which means I have been stocking up on some digi gorgeousness!!

This lovely lady is Miss Daisy who I coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut so that I could pop her on to a super quick background made with scraps of paper from my recently neglected pile!!

Hello lovely people of blogland. I am here with a mid way post for

Christmas Cards All Year Round

 where our current challenge is  Christmas Ornaments 

I die cut the "bauble" and stamped one of the PB Christmas Friends that was coloured with pencils. Lashings of glossy accents and glamour dust to bling up the ornament BUT it turned it a rather fetching orangey shade (it started off matching the scalloped mat!!). Never mind!!

I just "had" to use one of the latest arrivals at Cuddly Buddly, Fairy Dance, and coloured her with Promarkers to match the freebie LOTV papers. I created a scene and the card blank using various Marianne dies ( Fence, tree, and the card base) and the sun played nicely for me to photograph it outside too!!

Tulips from....Cuddly Buddly

Hello everyone. I have another gorgeous Cuddly Buddly image to share with you today.

Now isn't that just a bunch of spring?!! I got out the SN pencils to colour it up and spent a happy hour doing so. The border at the top was done with a MFT die.

April showers

Hello folks I hope you are enjoying/have enjoyed a good Saturday wherever you are. We have had one or two spits and spots of rain but the sky is still blue so can't complain. 

Anyway here is a perfectly apt card to share with you

The delightful little maid is Maggie and I just love her - she is such a jolly little character. She was coloured with Promarkers to match the papers from Pebbles, which (apart from pretty florals and checks) conveniently had a sheet that says "rain, rain go away come again another day". I used another page to paper piece her umbrella and stamped the sentiment onto a die cut cloud...as you do!!

Alcohol pens or Distress Inks?...you decide!!

As You Like It Challenge

It's a no brainer for me, alcohol pens every time, as I love a bit of "grown up" colouring. I have dabbled with painting but being impatient by nature I like to see a result quickly!!

Here's what I have done with my Promarkers using a totally adorable image from our Sponsor

She was coloured to match the MME papers Miss Caroline Dolled Up. 

The sentiment is from a Clearly Besotted set and was die cut using an Impression Obsession set.

Cheery Lynn provided the leaves and the flowers are from WOC. There is a bit of crochet lace hiding somewhere too!!

Coffee anyone?

Hello folks, things went badly at the weekend when I tried to mow the lawn as a bearing went in one of the wheels (booo!!) which meant I had to stop and find something else to do (yay!!!!) and this is what happened...

....a gift card

 to hold a coffee bag (delicious!!)

I used my Precious Remembrance set again, stamped and paper pieced on some pretty paper from the Kitsch collection by Craftwork Cards. I actually stuck the beaker on with foam pads for dimension and shaded with Flexmarkers.

I love how this turned out. The inspiration came from these two challenges

All about the boys

Hello all and for those of you not working I hope you are enjoying the Easter Weekend.

Thought I'd better tear myself away from the chocolate for a moment and share my DT card for the new challenge at 

 its All about the Boys and our super duper sponsors are

Here is what I did using Sean

It's an A5 tent card this time and I "borrowed" the idea from Colette (hope she won't mind!!)

He was coloured with Promarkers to match the scrap of paper. The kraft card was embossed using a CC folder to represent a wall.

I will confess to a bit of bad language while I was working out the dimensions but am really pleased. Apologies for the shadows on the pictures but you get the idea!! Hope you will like it enough to pop over and join in. Just remember that we are all about the CUTE!!

Easter chicks

Happy Easter folks here's wishing you a  happy chocolately day!!

I am here to share some calorie free cuteness by way of these...

...the prototype was not quite so cute and my  (ahem) "advisors" said that it looked like a Ninja, cheeky devils (guess who had no eggs this morning?!!). I shall just chalk that one down to experience!! Ooh and just in case you are thinking they are giant chicks, the daffodil is in fact a miniature and the container is a crab paste jar!!

Have a lovely day whatever you are doing. Dry weather here so the lawn will get another, much needed, trim later I think. But for now I am off to prepare the veggies for lunch after taking the chicks along to these challenges.

Bella and her bunch of balloons

Hello crafters, what a blooming yukky day it's been in Dorset, cold, drizzly and downright depressing BUT (every cloud and all that!!) it did mean a little crafty time after the weekly shop and this is the result.

She is coloured with Promarkers and the matching papers and Sprinkles are Doodlebug.

The sentiment was one from a brilliant set that was a Christmas present from a 

special blogging bud :0)

I couldn't get a decent picture and had to resort to getting on all fours on the mat by the french windows which prompted " Mum...what the hell are your doing?" oh, the things we do for our craft!! 

Anyway if you click on the picture you may just about see the wink of stella on the balloons. The ribbon came from Crafty Ribbons in one of their fab Jam Pot coloured packs.

I am off to make some Easter Biscuits and to try a Maple Carrot Cake recipe that I found here, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Pinch punch first of the month everyone and Hello to April too!! 

I am here with a Christmas creation today for

which is Christmas Ornaments (check out the challenge blog for full details) and is sponsored by 

and I chose to showcase Daniel's Tree.

The fabulous Finnish Star tutorial came from the lovely Jayne over at Tea, Cake and Crafting. I used A4 paper printed on both sides with contrasting Pink Petticoat digi papers and actually it worked just fine. I did cheat a little and used the pre coloured image of Daniel.

Here he is close up, matted onto complimentary Coredinations and a bit of silver card. The ribbon was a perfectly matching "find" in my ribbon arsenal!!
