How do you text? - AYLI

Hello everyone.

I am sharing this card to inspire you to join in at

where we are interested to know how you add text to your cards.

I am sure I am not alone in saying that I have drawers full of sentiment stamps but can never find one that is quite right...sound familiar!? So quite often I am saved by a computer generated sentiment mounted on complimentary board.

I used an image from our sponsor Polkadoodles and she is called Glass Half Full.
I used First Edition papers Wanderlust as my starting point and coloured her with Promarkers to match.

I am not sure what posessed me to choose an image with lots of hair as I struggle so much with it. However, I am relatively pleased with my efforts. When the darker nights arrive I might enrol myself on a colouring course.

I hope you will join us.

See you soon xx

Pink and girly handbags

Hello friends. I hope my fellow Brits were able to enjoy the Bank Holiday yesterday. Blessed with dry weather too which doesn't happen that often!! As Monday is a normal working day for me it means that I get a one day working week which is also very pleasing!!

As promised here I am with a card that I put together for a couple of challenges that grabbed me. I have had a little sort through my stash and found a fair few unused items including the stamps I have used today. So my mission is to use or rehome anything that has been gathering dust.

A square card as usual covered with some paper that came from The Range. I used a very old Martha Stewart border punch for some detail and all the stamps used are part of a Craftwork Cards set from here

The message was heat embossed and I have coloured the smaller handbags and paper pieced the large one and then used glossy accents. Although not cute, I actually like this one!!

Before I go I have a couple of snaps that I took on my early morning walk with the hairy kids. There is the feel of autumn in the air and the blackberries are starting to appear.

See you soon xx

Let's build a snowman!!

I don't think there is much chance of snowman building here in the UK today, the forecast is for a very hot and sunny Bank Holiday Monday. I am hoping to have already ridden before this post goes live, to avoid the heat.

To get back to the matter in hand, I am doing really well with my Christmas cards this year, I think that being on a Christmas Challenge Design Team helps too. Today's little fella is for

where we are building snowmen. Bugaboo is our sponsor and I used a chap from this set.

It is a 5x5 card for a change so I kept the design simple using only silver mirri board for contrast to the spotty paper from here. The sentiment was with the image. The cute little pair were coloured with Promarkers and of course Star Dust glitter had to feature.

So if you have time during the next three weeks be sure to ink up a snowman or two and join us!!

Hope the coming week will be a good one for you. I might just be back tomorrow since a challenge or two have caught my eye over the weekend.

Until then xx

AYLI Pink and Green

Happy Thursday everyone.

I made double sure that I had the right day, right time and I pressed the Publish button this time!!

So I am here with my card for

where we have a colour choice for you this week

Pink and Green or Blue and Orange...tell us why too!!

I have chosen pink and green, it's Mother Nature's idea, just look out of the window and you see it everywhere, colours in perfect harmony!! On this occasion I have chosen those colours to make a christmas card using Hanging Stockings from LOTV. They are matched to some Doodlebug Designs paper and an MFT die for the greeting.

We are enjoying our week very much. We got very wet yesterday at a local agricultural show, but on the plus side we didn't queue to get in!! I came home with a beautifully crafted chopping board and a lardy cake...yum!!

That's all for now. Thank you for your continued support and kind words xx

Cutie Favourite Colour Combo

Edit....Oh my days I am going to be sacked... I am so in Holiday mode  that I forgot to schedule this post...whoops!! Better late than never!!

Hello friends, hope you had a restful weekend and are refreshed for the week ahead. I am hoping you will have time to join in at

where we would love to see your favourite colour combinations on a cute card. Using an image from our sponsor, Bugaboo, I made this sweet pink and black card.

I coloured her with Promarkers and used scraps of paper. I am rather partial to pink and black together and have used this combo many times actually... some here, here and here if you would like a trip back in time!!

So that is me for today. See you later in the week with more pink I think.

 Until then take care xx

A Day For Daisies

Friday at last lovely people and an extra special one as I am on annual leave for a week...woo hoo!!
The weather doesn't look that great but no matter, Martin is off too so I have plans!!

Before that though I have some inspiration for you, it's my DT piece for

I chose this beautiful image from  A Day For Daisies, sadly now closed.

I absolutely love how this card turned out. I rarely do frills and fancies but felt that the magical image warranted such so I went to town with sparkle and all things girly!! The delicate colouring doesn't really show up well...it was extraordinarily sunny when I took the photo, hence the sparkle!! I even managed to reduce the size of my Wild Orchid Crafts flower mountain!!

Have a good weekend, when you get there xx

Little Friends - Rabbit

Rain over the weekend meant I had some indoors time on my hands so I was able to prepare a post. I am sharing a card that I made for a recent Birthday. It also fits a few current challenges so win, win!!

Just look at the face on that cute LOTV bunny rabbit!! I  coloured with Promarkers and I think the spotty paper is from a LOTV Christmas pad.

I am still struggling to come to terms with the fact that it is already August!! The nights are drawing in and I had to put on the lights to muck out this morning, it was 5.30am but even so!!

That's all for now. See you later in the week xx

Favourite Flower

Hello my lovely friends and visitors. I hope life is treating you well.

It's time to share another DT piece for As You Like It Challenge.

We are all about your Favourite Flowers this time ( and why, of course!). I have previously showcased daisies and sunflowers so this time thought about winter time flowers and came up with these.

I have had poinsettias in my kitchen for many winters now and one particular £1 plant from a supermarket lasted well into August. Funny I have never managed it since!! Although they can be a little bit tempermental, I love the velvety texture of the blooms and how they can brighten up a room.

I am really pleased with my new Sue Wilson poinsettia and message dies and ( in spite of my self imposed crafty stash embargo!!) am sure they will get lots of use!! I really enjoyed the piecing back together, very therapeutic.

I hope my crafty friends in the north of the UK are safe and well after the dreadful weather we had on Tuesday. What scary stuff for you.

That's all for now. I wish you a good weekend, when you get there xx
