O' Christmas Tree

Hello, thanks for stopping by today. Apologies for my lack of visits this week but I have been doing Holiday cover at work so today I can draw breath and perhaps catch up!!

This is my last guest spot for Christmas Stampin' All Year Long so thanks to Patty and the team for having me, it's certainly helped me to keep my New Year's Resolution!!

I coloured the sweet image (Cuddly Buddly Lilyboo - retired) with my Promarkers and fussy cut her in order to sit her on the ribbon/border and that, my friends, is that!! Apart from a pearl and some gems that is!

I am joining in here

Fab 'n' Funky #218 - Christmas

Right, I can hear the Dyson calling so better go and show the house some love!!

Toodles for now xx

A bit of Filigree

Morning all, hope you had an enjoyable Holiday Monday, the weather wasn't at it's best here but at least it stayed dry!! Anyway I am here this morning with a DT card for

Oldie But A Goodie

there is a new challenge starting today and the theme, chosen by Dips, is

"Filigree"

I chose to make a pocket card using really clean and fresh double sided paper to show off the beautiful  Heartfelt Creations die cuts, I have had this set for a year or more now and  this is probably only the second or third time I have used it...shame on me!!

Here is what you could win

I am off to play here

Penny's paper crafty challenge #178 - Spots and/or stripes (spots for me!!)
Chocolate. Coffee & Cards challenge #65  - Use a tag

Have a good day xx

Emboss it!!

Hello peeps  I am here with my DT card for

a new one starts today and we would like you to "emboss it". A chance to get out your long forgotten embossing folders or embossing powders or embossing boards even dies, the possibilities are endless!!
Just remember that your image MUST be CUTE!!

Here's what I did using a lovely image from our sponsor

I coloured Harriet with SN blendable pencils to match the MME papers and then created a bit of interest by dry embossing the edge of the hexagon frame (chosen to co-ordinate with the papers and embossing folder).

The chicken wire embossing board was a freebie.  I inked the concave side of the folder with embossing powder before running it through the Grand Caliber, then heated clear embossing powder over the whole piece. The raised areas picked up the Teal Zeal Momento ink (applied with cut 'n' dry foam) and the shiny embossed areas resisted it.

The finishing touch was by way of a sentiment stamped onto a tag.

I am joining in here

Crafty Catz #232 - Embossing
Stampin for the Weekend - For the girls
The Squirrel and The Fox #70 - Let's hear it for the girls
Crafty Your Passion #215 - Frame it

Have a lovely Bank Holiday Monday
(those of you lucky enough not to be working) and see you soon xx

GDT #3

Before I say anything else I just want to apologise for the (un)imaginative title, I have no excuse...at all....I just couldn't think of anything remotely witty!!

Anyway, another long weekend is upon us (in the UK) so lets hope for "reasonable" weather at the very least and here I am sharing another GDT card for

I used one of the adorable images and  the sentiment stamp from Christmas Friends, which I coloured with Promarkers. The bauble was also painted with Wink of stella which  the camera really doesn't  pick up,  unlike the mirror board which photographed really well on this occasion, probably the cloudy conditions!!
The paper is by Doodlebug and the ribbon from my stash.

I am joining in with these challenges

Divas by design - Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps #96 - Anything Goes
Crafting from the heart #19 - Anything Goes

That's all for now folks, enjoy your weekend whatever you are doing xx

My Favourite...

......colours!! Which is what I am hear to share today, a new challenge at

As You Like It ....your two most favourite colours and don't forget to tell us why!!

Here's mine....

Pink and green (ignore the blue flowers on the DP!!). I love the combinations you can get with pink and green. Being an outdoorsy girl the colours around us never cease to amaze. Mother Nature really knows what she's doing!!

I used the cutest WRS "Emily" stamp, coloured with Promarkers to match the Pink Petticoat (retired) papers.

I used  an SB border die in pink to compliment the spotted paper, and the tag that is peeping out beneath the bow is from Clearly Besotted's die and stamp Tag Along sets.

I do hope that you will join in the fun, you'd be most welcome!!

I'm playing along at these challenges

Purple!!?

Happy Monday everyone and I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend.

I indulged in a little craftiness last night, I deserved it after all the gardening I did!!

My regular visitors will have noticed that I rarely use purple, it's not that I don't like the colour, I just find that my purple creations never quite pass muster. However, I bought little Cobweb and, as if by magic
( or my lovely DT mate Annette waving her magic wand in Devon!!) I'm cured...a purple card that I am happy with!!!

I coloured her with SN pencils again to match the Nitwits papers, the ribbon and button came from  Annette actually (see, she has been trying to convert cure me for a while!! ). I used LOTV #2 sketch again.

I was inspired by these fabulous challenges

Allsorts #259 - Purple Passion
The Ribbon Girl - May Colour Challenge Purples/Lilac
Penny Black & More - Anything Goes
LOTV - Fairies (Second entry)

Must dash...see you soon!! xx

I've cracked it!!

Morning my blogging buddies, me again!!

I have a jolly creation to share today. It's been a while since I used a Stampfairy image so thought I would rectify that by using Molly Balloons who has been sat on my desktop waiting for some time now!!

She was coloured with Spectrum Noir pencils, I couldn't resist finding out what all the fuss was about so bought myself the essentials set. I like them and shall continue to acquaint myself with an entirely different colouring medium. Papers, incidentally, are Pebbles - Sunny side.

Since Christmas I have been trying to teach myself to crochet, I have mastered phone covers, boxes and blankets but for the life of me couldn't "get" flowers. I think I have unpicked a shipload over the course of a week. Anyhow I finally happened upon  Happy Berry Crochet and spent a while following a stitch by stitch video tutorial on You Tube and I have finally cracked it...see...top left corner!! So if you are struggling with crochet or want to teach yourself go have a peep at her website...it's brill!!

Waffling over I was inspired by these challenges

Sketch 'n' Stash #139 - sketch 35
Cute Card Thursday #321 - Handmade embellishments (Crochet flower Yay!!)
ABC - L for Lots of Layers
Crafty Ribbons #89 - Anything Goes + ribbon

Enjoy your Sunday xx

Here she is......

.....I think she's adorable!!

It's a CAS affair, coloured with Promarkers, a flittering of glamour dust and some gems...simples!!

GDT #2

Morning folks and it looks like it's going to be another lovely one (fingers crossed).

I am here today to share another card for

where I am guest designer for May

I am using a QKR Stampede digi this time.

He is coloured/shaded, as ever with Promarkers although I kept the colour scheme simple with just an extra burst from the green tree and, of course, the "must have" glamour dust.

Anniversary

Hello Folks!!
I am here this morning with my card for

Oldie But A Goodie and our new theme is "Anniversary" as chosen by Francesca.

I don't mind admitting I had a complete brain freeze when faced with this theme!! I racked my brain, trawled through all my stamps, rubber and digi and could not get any inspiration at all. Eventually I turned to my paper box and " Eureka"!!

I have gone with a no colouring CAS design, purely because I love the papers!! Everything on this card is over six months old. I used a Marianne die set for the heart, a sentiment from LOTV and to finish off a sweet, perfectly coloured ribbon rose that came included in a mahoosive candy win from Sammy Jean last year.

We would love it if you could play along, all you have to do is include something that is older than six months.

Have a lovely day and happy crafting xx

GDT!!

Hello, only me with another Christmas card this time.

A little while ago I won a challenge at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long and in doing so earned myself a Guest Designer position for the month of May. Thanks ever so much to Patty and the other girls and of course it also means more Christmas cards to go on the pile!!

So here is my first creation for them using a digi stamp from Anne's Digital Art

She was coloured with Promarkers and I added some polar white Flowersoft to the fur trim on her coat and head band. Lots of glamour dust and Viva decor pearl pen for some texture too. I used Annabelle's Christmas paper to match the poinsettia in her hair and used a SB border die for some interest and that my lovelies is it!!

Feather or fur...you decide!!

Hello and welcome to Thursday. I am here to share my DT card for

As You Like It Challenge

and the theme is Favourite Feather or Fur?

I make no apologies for choosing fur, there's nothing softer than a rabbit or a cat and our old springer spaniel had the softest ears in the world!! Now don't get me wrong I love to have birds in my garden and I did actually adopt his budgie when our eldest Son moved into his house, but it's the flapping that scares the life out of me. It's my dear Grandma's fault, she used to let her budgie fly around her sitting room (it even had it's own perch attached to the mirror over the fire place!!) and it used to terrify me!! We actually had a dozen hens at one point that lived in our old calf barn. Although they had a perfectly nice coop they preferred to roost up high so I would open the door in the morning and wait until they had all come outside before going in to collect the eggs!! Anyway I am waffling today...here is my card.

The sweet image and sentiment is "Free Hugs" coloured with Pro/Flexmarkers. Papers are Curiosity Corner and the flower and pearls came from my stash.

I am taking my furry friends off to play here

Chocolate, coffee and cards challenges #64 - Circles & squares
Feeling Crafty #28 - One for the girls/ladies
Ladybug Crafts May challenge - Favourite embellishments (flowers & pearls)

O' Christmas Tree

Hello Folks. Another Christmas card to share today...have to keep my resolution!!

A bit of CAS today with the addition of a bow. Another Inky doodles stamp set (that I decoupaged) and Doodlebug papers.

I took the inspiration from here

Jingle belles - 3 or more layers ((4 layers of decoupaged tree)
Holly Jolly - Traditional colours

I'm fancying some Sea Bass for lunch so off to town ( not sure why I felt the need to tell you that but hey ho!!). Toodles for now!! xx

Monday 5 May 2014

Lots of layers

Morning All and if you are in the UK I hope you are having a good May Day Holiday ( those of you lucky enough not to be working that is). Surprise and I had a lovely peaceful ride this morning and didn't see a single human...lots of pheasants squawking and birds singing but no people!!

I love it now the nights are lighter as it means that once home from work or doing outside things I am still able to grab a little crafty therapy. Here is my latest make.

I really enjoyed making this card using another LOTV sketch (#10 this time) and Just a Note that I coloured with Pro/Flexmarkers. I used a very old paper pad that had script on it that I thought was just right. I used  notebook and butterfly dies for some interest and some pearls as a finishing touch. The Just a note sentiment came from a  Clearly Besotted sentiment set.

I was inspired by these challenges

The Crafting Cafe - Creatures
My Mum's Craft Shop #17 - Lots of layers
Allsorts #257 - Butterflies
Created with Love #81 - For the love of critters

That's it for now folks. Thanks for your lovely comments, it's always appreciated xx

Fairy wishes

Hello peeps and I hope the sun is shining on you!!

Horsey jobs have been done, housey jobs have been done, chicken is in the oven so I thought I'd take five minutes to share this with you while the spuds are par boiling!!

Using my waterbrush and inky pens again I coloured Little Dot to compliment the lovely papers.
The punched borders were a forgotten find in my scrap box (really should delve deeper more often!!)
That's it!! Simples.

I am joining in with these challenges

Natalie and Amy #20-  Rubber Stamping
Brown Sugar #92 - Use two papers
Sweet Stampin' - Fairies/Fantasy

Have a lovely day whatever you are doing and thanks for spending some time with me. I appreciate it!!

Friends & Flowers

Hello my crafty friends. Hope you are looking forward to another long weekend. Fingers crossed that the weather is kind to us and that we won't be needing an umbrella like the ladies on my card...actually it could be a parasol I suppose!!

I used a lovely Bugaboo image from another recent win (gosh...I'm on a roll!!) and coloured them with Promarkers to compliment the paper. I originally cut the aperture with the intention of using the reverse side but actually decided that the spots looked less fussy so went with them instead. It's raised off the image with foam pads but doesn't show that well.  The punched flowers and inner frame were made from a scrap of pearlescent paper from my bits box. Quite CAS but it actually took a fair bit of faffing!!

I'm taking part in these challenges

My time To Craft #245 - April Showers
Divas By Design - April Showers
CRAFT #257 - Make your own embellishment (punched flowers)
ABC Challenge - K "Keep It Simple"
Papercrafting Journey - Spots and/or stripes

Cheerio for now, have a good one whatever you are doing!! xx
