Red

I know I said I wouldn't be here until Wednesday but I just had  to share a card I made using the tutorial by Kitty Frampton in Quick Cards Magazine. I also promised Sue N that I would make a red card for a challenge. So here it is.....

The card design was so easy to do, although I fear the image panel may be a little skew whiff!! The stamp set came from Little Claire and the papers were bits and pieces. I will add a sentiment when the need arises as I think it would actually suit many occasions.

This shot shows the dimension and it actually stands up on it's own!!

Here is that  red challenge and a few others too

Sweet Stampin' - Red Hot Summer
Fussy & Fancy #142 - Fancy Folds
Crafting for all seasons #105 - Cute and Summery

The sun is shining here so I hope you are enjoying the same where you are!!

Belated Wishes

I made a boo boo at the beginning of the month and didn't realize a Birthday was imminent until I turned over the calendar and with two days to send a card overseas being impossible I put together this little belated number to demonstrate what an " ass " I felt!!
Despite the lateness she loved it so I think I am forgiven!!

The image was a prize from Whimsy stamps from a couple of years ago that I found in my digi folder. Coloured with Promarkers to match the Kitsch paper and coordinating bow from Craftwork Cards. I pierced holes and used my letraset fineliner for faux stitching and the sentiment is from a Paper Smooches set.

Luckily there a few challenges that suit too as the colourway rather lends itself to the Union Flag.

Cherry Pie

Hello my lovely blogging buddies, I have a pie to share with you today of the cherry variety, which is actually my favourite!! The whole digi kit came from Buddly Crafts and includes not only the pie image but plates of pasta, lots of papers and tags too so a really versatile kit.

I printed the pie several times in order to create decoupage, as you can see from this shot. I added clear embossing powder  to the cherries and popped a Marianne die cut behind the pie to suggest a lace doily. The ribbon and tag were in my stash and I think the perfect sentiment was a Clearly besotted freebie that came with a magazine. I thoroughly enjoyed doing a bit of cutting and sticking for a change!!

I would like to join in at these challenges

Before I go I would like to bore you with  share with you some more visitors to the garden.

I could see this little baby out of the corner of my eye while busy crocheting.

Luckily this chap wasn't in the vicinity at the time...that might have been nasty!!

What a pretty lady. She spent a good few minutes looking in and completely ignored Suzy barking at her!!

Thank you for visiting and have a lovely evening xx

One lump or two?

Hello folks, apologies for not being around over the weekend but it was Hubby's weekend off and the good weather meant that we were able to get some outside projects done so time was in short supply for commenting, but I have visited...promise!!

Anyway,I am here to share a "whoops my hand slipped" new rubber stamp, which is actually a bit unusual in that I usually tend to steer away from stamps/images that don't have a mouth as I find them a bit creepy!! On this occasion it was the teacup that persuaded me that I needed this little Gorjuss girl in my collection and paper piecing opportunities are too good to miss so home she came.

The base was made using Go Kreate Frilly Frames #10 to which I glued some very old papers which, I think, may have been Dovecraft Tea Party perhaps. The brad was from the same collection too. As you can see the cup and saucer is paper pieced and shade and the rest of the image was coloured by Promarkers. The border was made using a lawn fawn die and all the edges were inked with weathered wood for some definition.

I am trying my hand at these challenges

Scrap and Craft #10 - Tag it
Stamping Sensations - Dies and punches
Make the day special June - Colour challenge
(Right swatch, pink, blue and grey)

Allsorts #316 - Use a stamp
Addicted to stamps #107 - Bingo
(Middle row = Sentiment, Stamped image and a brad)
The Sugar Bowl #125 - Anything Goes

A colleague is on holiday this week meaning free time will be limited so I shall see you when I see you xx

Follyfoot

Hello, hello my lovelies and I hope you are well today.

I am here to invite you to join in at As You Like It where the new theme is

It will come as no surprise that among my favourite literary guilty pleasures there happen to be a few that are equine in nature and my inspiration came from the Follyfoot series of books by Monica Dickens that became a popular TV series in the 70's and I sooooo wanted to be like Dora!!
Why did I choose Follyfoot? Well after my wonderful family my animals are so precious to me and give me so much pleasure, added to which they tolerate the nonsense that comes out of my mouth on a regular basis and don't judge me!! Case in point I can hear you yelling "shut up Sarah and show the card!!"......here it is

The rubber stamp is one of the very first that I ever bought and is called Charley with Willow that I coloured with SN pencils to match the pretty Pebbles paper. The sweet flowers were punched out of perfectly matching pink card (although looking at the picture it doesn't seem so!!) and I added a yellow gem to the centres.

Some challenges to enter

Love to Scrap #56 - Anything Goes

Comfy cocoa

Hello everyone!! Hope your week has started well.
I am  sharing a card today that I made using a Sami Stamps digital image that I won recently.

I coloured her with Promarkers using two colours only to tone with the paper. The die cuts were the result of a rummage in my bits and pieces box and happily go very well I think!! There is a pearl in the centre of the rolled flower (I am so rubbish at these...any tips greatly received!!) and a pretty ribbon and double bow to finish off. I resisted the temptation to add a sentiment just yet but will do so at a later date.

Some challenges

Just Be Yourself

Hello friends and I hope today finds you well. The rain has just started here in Dorset so I am glad that Surprise and I got out and about early this morning before the world was awake!!
Anyway I am here because I have a card to share with you. I have looked in awe at the fabulous creations that Pauline and Colette delight us with on a regular basis and had to go and have a looksee and ended up getting a few kits to play with.

I used to use Sassy Cheryl images a lot and had forgotten how fabulous they were so "had" to get this cutie Just Be Yourself !! I did exactly as per instructions and it was lovely just to sit quietly and do a bit of  cutting and sticking!! Very therapeutic. I always curl my decoupage pieces to give it"life" and it also serves to hide the glue gel too.

We can play along at these challenges

Praying Angel

I really am keeping on top of the Christmas cards this year and here comes another, using the gorgeous Buddly Crafts Praying Angel.

She was coloured with Promarkers to compliment the gorgeous Studio Light Scandinavian papers. If you haven't come across these papers yet please check them out, they represent outstanding value for money and are of really good quality, I can highly recommend them!! The good old SB ovals were layered to add a frame and for a bit of contrast and the button and ribbon added for a final flourish.

Favourite Flower

Hello lovely people today I am here with my DT piece for

and our new theme is your favourite flower and why?

It's sunflowers for me simply because they are such happy flowers, I would love them to thrive in my garden but sadly every time I have tried to grow them the nasty old wind blows them right over so I have given up trying :0( However, last month I was so very lucky to win candy from the lovely lady that is Debbie Simpson  (thanks again Debs x) and it was three Sizzix floral die sets and, yay, one of them was this glorious sunflower. I had such a lovely time die cutting and putting it together and liberally slathering it in WOS . The hessian was from my stash and the sentiment came from Scrap & Craft. I resisted the temptation to add more and just let the sunflower "be" for it's own sake.

Fun in the sun

Hello everyone.

My card today was inspired by several challenges and my "need" to play with a Doodlebug pad that has been sitting on my desk for a little while.

This  little guy is called Hoppy Days and was coloured with Promarkers. The scene was made using the papers and some dies. Even the tag was cut from the paper pad.
When my boys were little we had a brook running through the farm and (although they never caught anything!!) loved nothing more than fishing with their nets!!

The inspiration came from here

Fussy and Fancy #140 - Fun in the sun
Paperbabe #13 - Brights
Noor #7 - Here comes summer
Through the purple haze - Bright Colours
Without Words - Summer Holidays
(Hope it's not too "fussy" Squirrel...delete if so!!)

Hope your day is as sunny as the one on my card!! xx

Sweet Snowman

Hello everyone. Flaming June and I have another Christmas card to share with you!! This time my DT piece for

The paper is Doodlebug Frosty Friends (note to self, get another one!!) and he was coloured with Promarkers and I picked some coordinating card for mats. The border was lurking in my die cut stash and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Hope you will find the time to make a start on your Christmas cards (or add to the pile for that matter!!)  and come and join in, you'd be most welcome.
