What's your favourite layout?

Happy Thursday everyone, it'll soon be the weekend and a lovely long one here in the UK. Added to that my month long spell of holiday cover at work is over so that means that I shall be visiting  you all more often!!

Anyway, I am actually here to shout about the new challenge starting today at

As You Like It and we are inviting you to join us and share

Your Favourite Layout...here's mine (at the moment!!)

I have been really enjoying sketches at the moment, particularly Jules' at Always With A Heart. This gem is #6 from her ever growing collection and I especially like this layout as it showcases the patterned papers beautifully, in this case Dovecraft More or Less. I dug out my The Ca't Pajamas stamps and chose to use this one "A Girl and her Cake". She was coloured with Promarkers to match the papers.

Carolina and her carrots

So, yesterday did not turn out as planned as it poured with rain for pretty much 24 hours, but I managed to make this

The little lady is Carolina who first made an appearance in 2013 here so she was long overdue another colouring which I did with Promarkers to match the LOTV papers.
I'm not sure if a littley could actually manage to carry a basket that full of carrots but she does look rather cute doesn't she!!?

Better link up to these challenges before I head off to work :0(

Even more pinkness...

Happy Weekend Friends. Hope you have had a good week and that you will enjoy your weekend. Before I get the hoover out and then attack the lawn (with the lawnmower NOT the hoover you understand!!)  I have more pink gorgeousness to share and although I followed an sketch and it's fairly plain it took an age to make...why is that?

The Hand Stitched stamp set was another "oops I hit the add to basket button" when I was actually looking for a completely different stamp and die set. Once it arrived I took it out of the packet and then put it back again several times as I wasn't sure what to do with it.  However, inspiration came from Make The Day Special's August Challenge which is this sketch

The papers are more oldies from MME and I glittered the top of the embroidery ring for a bit of snaz!!

Here are more challenges I am entering

Crafty Cats #289 - Flowers
Allsorts #325 - Roses
Penny Black and More - summer Flowers

Thank you for your lovely comments on my shell card, and yes Lucy you did indeed supply the inspiration for the rope frame xx

She sells seashells on the seashore...

I have had this fabulous Marianne Design Cutting Sheet sat on my desk for some time and finally (after rediscovering another unused paper pad) decided what to do with it...this

The background paper is from Prima Seashore pad and complimented the seashell cut out perfectly. To butch it up a bit I used some string to make a frame and squished some cheesecloth into my linen DI pad to dirty it up a little and stuck it behind the frame. The seashells in the bottom left corner were cut from the sheet and decoupaged with glue gel for some dimension.

Here are the challenges I would like to play along with

Creatalicious #78 -  Summer Fun at the beach
Ooh la la #187 - One for the boys
That's Crafty -  Under the sea
Craft Your Passion #275 - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals #32 - Any holiday
The Crafter's Cafe #129 - The great outdoors

Thank you for stopping to take a look and for your lovely comments xx

Cupcake anyone?

Hello there and I hope you are all well. I grabbed a few minutes to myself at the weekend and put together this cheerful card using my super duper stepper die set. I had a further delve into my papers and found Pebbles Sunny side.

I won Little Kiki with her cupcake recently so it was her first outing and she was coloured with Promarkers to coordinate with those lovely papers. All she needed was a little stardust on her cupcakes to finish off.

I would like to enter these challenges

Digi Choosday #32 - Dies and punches
Cute Card Thursday #386 - Anything Goes
A Gem Of A Challenge #151 - One for the girls
The Craft Barn - Something Sweet (Cupcakes & gooey icing!!)
Allsorts #324 - Favourite Colour (Teal and shades thereof)
Little Miss Muffett #118 - Anything Goes

Righty ho, better get a wriggle on and get ready for work!! Have a good day whatever you are doing and see you soon xx

More pink?!

I know...!! I'm not sure what has come over me but I can't seem to get enough of the colour at the moment, it must be all the beautiful hanging baskets and planters that are currently decorating Dorset!! Anyway, it's new challenge day at

and our theme this time is your favourite two embellishments and why?

Those of you that visit often will know that I tend not to use many embellishments but when I have a mind to it will be ribbon (to try and reduce the size of my ribbon mountain!!) and pearls for a little bit of sheen and interest .

I didn't want to overpower the fabulous stamp so went for a relatively CAS design using papers from Pebbles Garden Party...again!! Ribbon, pearls and that's it!!

Some challenges

In the Pink #75 - Anything Goes
Crafting for all seasons #107 - Bright and Beautiful
Top Tip challenge - Ribbon and pearls

Thank you for visiting my piece of blog land, I appreciate it xx

Coffee with odd dog

I know, it's an unusual time for me to be here but I forgot to mention in my Cutie Pie DT post yesterday that we are having a CUTIE PIE DT CALL as we have recently lost a couple of our friendly little team. All the details are on the main challenge blog here.

Anyway while I am here it would be rude not to share a card so here goes!!
I bought this cute Odd Dog stamp at the  launch and have only just got around to completing a card...so much to do, so little time!!

I also decided that I must dig out, and actually use, some older paper pads and rediscovered MME Unforgettable. I used another of Jules' sketches (thank you lovely lady!!) and coloured little Odd Dog with Promarkers.

I would like to enter these challenges

Sweet Stampin' - Anything But a Birthday
Craft Your Passion #274 - Anything Goes
Crafting From The Heart #72 - Anything Goes
Sweet Stamps #234 - Anything Goes

See you soon xx

Cute and Girly...

...just like me (depending on who you talk to!!)

Another Cutie Pie Challenge starts today and Cute and Girly is the theme for this month.
 Easy peasy lemon squeezy!!

is our sponsor this time and we were able to play with some digis and here is what I did with
Share a latte definitely cute and girly.

Pebbles Garden Party was the starting point for this and she was coloured with Promarkers to match. The sentiment is from CB Sweet little sentiments set. Those eagle eyed among you will have noticed stitching  (albeit not very good!!). A little while ago the diddy sewing machines in Hobbycraft were half price, so for £12.50 it was too good to miss and it's actually done a good job, although it is rather noisy for such a small machine!!

Some challenges

Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Penny's papercrafty challenge #239 - Feature a child
Graphit markers colouring Wk #32 - inspired by flowers

Ruby's rainbow #110 - For a little girl
Little Claire Digi Challenge #8 - Favourite colour combo (pink and aqua)

Hope you will bring your cute and girly creations over to join us, the more the merrier!!

See you soon xx

Just a bit of pink

Hello all and I hope the week has started well for you. I have an extremely pink creation to share with you today that I made using more gorgeousness from Buddly Crafts.

Don't say I didn't warn you!

Once I had decided which bit of the kit to choose it was such an easy card to make, just print and cut!! I then coloured little Cupcake Love to match the pinkness and sat her on the number with foam pads. The words had a liberal squidge of stardust to finish off. Shame I don't have any 4th birthday parties to go to!!

I have found some challenges to play at too

CCC Digi creations #30 -  Pretty in Pink
Dream Valley Challenges  #112 - Checks or stripes

You may remember that I mentioned I was planning on braving the public with my cardmaking, well it was  Saturday and here is a snap of the stall all set up and ready to go.

The space was shared with my friend Kim who is an absolute genius with a sewing machine and we didn't really expect to recover the cost of the pitch (all £10 of it), however we broke even and both made quite a big return on our investment, which of course will be ploughed back into papers and stamps and in Kim's case fabric!! We are now eyeing up Christmas fayres in the locality so will definitely be doing it again. Best of all though was getting a surprise visit from Hubster and Suzy - I daresay it would have been different had England not won the third test match!!

Thank you for visiting, I really appreciate it xx

Snowflakes....

....is the August theme at

and boy did I struggle with this one, I had a complete mental block and had to resort to going through all my Christmas paper stacks, stamps and CD roms for inspiration which I, eventually, found in the form of an unknown snowflake stamp kit which, I think, was bought from QVC years and years ago!!

As is so often the case, what should have been a really quick card took ages to put together but, that said, I am delighted with the result and it was lovely to get the embossing powder out again.

This shot, amazingly, shows the mirri board, embossing and sheen on the pearl card banner really well. The card base is from Craftwork Cards Chalkboard Christmas.

Some Challenges

Dream Valley #111 - Embossing - Wet or Dry
Crafting For all seasons #106 - Christmas in July
Simply Papercraft #10 - Anything Goes

Have a good weekend xx
