Merry Christmas To You

Hello my friends, me again, I am rather enjoying a one day week and with New Year on  Monday it will be a one day week next week too...yay!!

I have a rather grown up card to share today. One of my regular customers likes a more traditional card for his Wife so I had a mooch at Pinterest, as you do, and found plenty using die cuts. So I raided my rather massive stash and came up with this.

Looking at it now...I should perhaps have added more  white foliage for symmetry, but never mind.  I gave my Spellbinders poinsettia dies a rest this year and used a Marianne die set for a change, the embossed detail really came out well on the pearl board.

This card will suit the current Allsorts Challenge, Seasonal Flowers, so I am off to link up there.

I hope you have a good weekend. I am looking forward to Martin being home as he worked last weekend and over Christmas so is due a bit of down time. Nothing special planned so we will just go with the flow!!

See you soon xx

Lady Bell loves coffee

Hello everyone.

I hope you are all well and had a happy Christmas. We enjoyed having the family here and our Granddaughters Mollie had some lovely presents for her first Christmas.
Anyway, I am here to share  little bit of inspiration for

I am ashamed to say it is a week late....ooops!! I am sure that as it's the season of goodwill that I will be forgiven though.

As a coffee drinker, I absolutely love this image, such fun! She was coloured with Promarkers to match the brilliant paper that I found in my scrap box and my frilly frame die was put to use again, I think I have made more use of this die set than any other in my massive  modest collection!!

While I am here I would like to wish you and your loved knes
Good health and happiness in 2018.

Thank you for your continued support, it is much appreciated xx

Sasayaki Glitter Christmas Morning

Hello lovely peeps. Only a week to go until the big day and I hope your preparations are under way.I thought I had everything under control until I had a shock on Saturday to discover half my Christmas cards (that I thought I had posted last week) had slid off the passenger seat and into the pocket in the car door....doh!! At least there is still time for them to arrive safely.

Anyway, less of my woes. It is time for more new releases at Sasayaki Glitter today and I just could not resist this little image. It is called Christmas Morning and takes me right back to the boys dragging their Christmas sacks into our bedroom to open the contents!!

It was really quick to make. I coloured her with Promarkers. Die cut Merry Christmas and the snowflake and added a length of ribbon and a bow to do is it off. Simples !!

All being well I shall be back later in the week.

 Until then...take care xx

AYLI #120 Bag or Box

Hello, hello wherever you are!!

I have something a little different today for the new challenge over at

We challenge you to share your favourite bag or box.

I have chosen a box on this occasion, simply because I saw something similar on Pinterest and just had to have a go. This was actually my first attempt so I was mighty pleased that it turned out so well. You can find the instructions here. I used a holly mask and Glitter Kiss for the little square panels on the box.  It was great to get messy!!

I liked it so much that I have made seven of them to to hold little festive gifts for my work colleagues!!

It would be lovely if you could join us xx

Stars and Snowflakes

Welcome to a new week and a new challenge at

The theme is Stars and/or Snowflakes. I made use of one of my Julie Loves kits from Craftwork Cards. I love this colour palette!! The digi image is an old one from Paper Nest Dolls, one of our sponsors.

As you can see, a really simple card.

I hope that you will manage to snatch a minute or two, during this busy time of year, to join us. We can't promise mince pies and mulled wine but a warm welcome is always available!!

See you soon friends xx

Winter Dan

Hello everyone.  I can't believe that it has been over a week since I posted anything...where has that time gone?!!

I was looking through my digi folders and found Winter Dan from Digistamp Boutique so thought I would have a play.

I bought the papers in Hobby Craft last year as I rather liked the unusual colour way which seems to suit a male flavour card perfectly!! He was coloured with Promarkers. The plywood snowflake was in my stash and a perfect colour match too. My Go Kreate frilly dies made the base.

Looks like we may be getting some snow here in the UK over the next few days, not sure how I feel about that when there is so much Christmas prep still to do!! It's  jolly  nice to look at, as long as you don't have to leave the house!!

Anyway, I am waffling. I will be back on Monday with  little bit of Cutie Pie goodness!!

Until then stay safe, whatever the weather.

AYLI Favourite Animal

Hello crafters. I am hosting today over at

and the theme couldn't be more perfect for me as it's

Favourite AnimalπŸ΄πŸ•πŸˆ

Now, those of you that have known me for a while will know that my animals play a major role in my life, to the detriment of my crafty time actually!! It would be unfair for me to pick a favourite as I love them all equally so I have made something showcasing the other loves in my life horses/donkeys, dogs and cats!!

Looking forward to seeing what you make!!

Santa Claus is coming to town

Hello and I hope this week will be a good one for you. I can hardly believe that it is time for another challenge at

and this challenge marks our twelfth, we have been creating cute Christmasness or Christmas cuteness (!!) for a whole year...how did that happen?

Anyway it won't be long until the fella in red will be visiting so this time the theme is

Santa Claus is coming to town.πŸŽ…

Now, I tend to steer clear of Father Christmas images and stamps as I find some of them a bit creepy looking. However, I found a lovely decoupage sheet from Craft Creations that I just had to use and then remembered that I had bought a cute Father Christmas stamp and die from Swedish House Crafts, so I have two cards to share!!

I wanted the stamp to tell the story on this one so kept it quite plain. The sweet paper is from Doodlebug Designs Milk and Cookies...so cute.

I love the idea of Father Christmas ice skating!! The Crafters Companion embossing folder made for a perfect back drop and the sentiment is, of course, a much used Christmas stamp set from  LOTV.

It would be lovely to see you and your Santa creations so hope you will have a minute or two to join us.

Well, that's me for today but I will be back later in the week, so see you then xx

Teddy and Bees

Hello my lovely blogging buddies. It seems I am always here on a Thursday these days and today is to share a sweet little guy from Sasayaki Glitter, Teddy and Bees.

I coloured him to match the pretty papers and added a little bit of cotton lace. As luck should have it I also found a cute little button in the shape of a bee that I "operated" on to remove the shank!!

It won't be quite so long until I see you again as I have another DT date on Monday!!

Thank you for your anniversary wishes. We had a lovely week and it was awfully hard to go back to work on Monday, however, two minutes in the door and  it was like I had never been away!!

Have a good weekend when you get there xx

AYLI

Hello folks. I hope you are having a good week and looking forward to the weekend. We are on Annual Leave this week which has been lovely. A visit to see my Mum on Monday, Weymouth on Tuesday, yesterday was our Wedding Anniversary...31 years
( I married very  young!! ) Today we are going wherever the fancy takes us after our 3+ mile morning walk of course!!

Anyway, the reason for my post is to encourage you to join us at

where our theme is Your favourite Christmas colour combination.

Being a traditionalist at heart I tend to favour holly green and berry red or combinations thereof. I used a design sheet from our sponsor, Polkadoodles.

This image came from Winnie's Winterland cd.

I hope you will find time to join us and,  in doing so, add to your pile of festive makes.  I really must get a wriggle on myself,  as my pile is looking decidedly small, despite being a DT member for Christmas with the Cutie Pies!!

Anyway, that is all for now folks. See you soon xx

Bear Hugs

Helloooo!! It's time for another challenge at

So, the intention was to use a rather cute digi image from my stash but unfortunately I talked myself into pre-ordering  one of the latest releases from Stamping Bella so I just had to use that instead!!

Now tell me that's not cute!!

I coloured them with Promarkers to match the scrummy papers from  Doodlebug Designs (Milk and cookies). My new (longed for) Tattered lace dies got their first airing too which was exciting!! I just think crafting is fab, in that so much pleasure can be gained by some paper, metal and a bit of rubber!! Designer shoes and handbags? Not for me!! Actually it's more like horse shoes and rugs!!

Anyway, you have a few weeks to dig out your bear stamps, papers, toppers or dies and join the Cuties...look forward to seeing what you make!!

See you later in the week with more Christmas!! xx

Baby Elly's Birthday

Hello friends. I hope this week has been a good one for you. I have had a long awaited "normal" week at work so it has been nice to be able to ride, dog walking and do my household activities at a leisurely pace rather than the breakneck speed that has been needed for the past few months...it won't last though for sure!! I even managed to squeeze in a bit of DT work which was a bonus!!

Here is one of those cards for my inspiration post at

Sasayaki Glitter and this little cutie is Baby Elly

I coloured her with Promarkers and the papers were in my bits and pieces box,  possibly Simple Stories.

Just have a look at Mollie dressed as a pumpkin for Halloween!!

See you the other side of the weekend with a bit of cuteness xx

It's Christmas for me at AYLI!!

Happy Thursday blogland peeps. I have a bit of DT inspiration today for the new challenge at

We would love you to share your favourite type of card, Christmas or non-Christmas

I am so behind with my Christmas cards this year so it had to be a festive card. I have so many unused stamps that I bought last year that it is also the perfect opportunity to ink them up too!!

This little bunny is one of them. I won a spend at The Cat's Pajamas after leaving a comment on my lovely blog buddy Brenda's blog and chose this set Bunny Christmas. I love these guys and have quite a few of them now. It is a much smaller card than I would usually make being only a 4 inch square. The papers were a little scrap and bunny was coloured with Promarkers. Being  Christmas there is obviously a dusting of glitter too!!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you will play along. It's pretty much a free for all!!

Cutie Christmas Tags

Hello everyone. Not sure where the last month has gone but it looks as though it's time for a new challenge at

The theme this time is tags. I made a large one to decorate the front of my card.

I used more of my Crafters Companion Christmas stash for this one.  Red Nose Reindeer from the Cute Christmas range. The layer beneath the tag was embossed with Contemporary Folk from the Scandinavian Christmas range. The card stock that I embossed was actually the packaging from the folder, so a freebie!!  The sparkle came from a couple of bottles of Nuvo Drops, White Blizzard and Ruby Slippers.

I hope you will manage to find some time to play along, just remember that your Christmas creation needs to feature a tag and be cute!!

There are a few challenges that will suit this card so I am off to link up.

I hope this week will be kind to you xx

Birthday teddy

Hello lovely people. Two posts in a week?.....I know, and it's fab to have your company again!! I have a couple of cute bears to share with you. The first is

I really enjoyed making this card, in fact I am enjoying crafting again, full stop!! I used green for a change and raided my ribbon stash for something a bit different. The spots were perfect as inspiration  for the additional colours.

Here is bear number two. I can't find the link for the pattern unfortunately!!

A friend's daughter has just given birth to a long awaited baby boy, Harrison Jack and I made this comforter for him. I decided to use bright colours that wouldn't show the dirt too much, assuming that one day Harrison will be dragging this around after him!! Declan sucked his thumb when he was small so never had a comfort blanket. Connor, on the other hand, favoured a brushed cotton pillowcase called "moocher" that got smaller and smaller with wear!!

Well, that is me for today. Not sure what is in the pipeline, card wise, so I will see you when I do. Have a lovely weekend when you get there xx

Two's Company

Hello friends. I hope that you had a good weekend. It was Hubby's weekend off so we walked a lot, did a bit of repair work on Surprise's stable and ate out on Sunday which was a treat. It was nice to spend some quality time together outside of our hectic routines which seems to be commonplace these days!!

Anyway, I have a little card to share with you. It took me a week to complete but I was determined to play along with some challenges, particularly one inspired by
A Gem Of A Challenge,  which is currently spots and/or stripes.

The sweet image is one of Lili of the valley's digital images called Two's Company. I found the papers in my stash, they are double sided card stock that, I believe, were by  Creative Expressions many years ago. Lilac and purple shades are not ones that I regularly use but I became reacquainted with said colours when Bowie  chewed  got hold of my Promarkers colour chart and I had to download and re-colour another...thanks Bowie!! I think I shall be using them more often now!!

Thank you for stopping by. I hope the coming week will be a good one xx

AYLI People or Animals?

Hello everyone, I can't believe it's been a week since I have posted here.
Anyway, it's time for the every other Thursday dilemma for you.

People or Animals is the theme at

Now, this was a tough one for me but after having a bit of a count, it seems that people are my favourite thing to colour. I like to have a play with my alcohol markers with different skin tones. That said, I still go back to using the same old three!!

I used Fairy Emma with Unicorn from our sponsor Paper Nest Dolls

She was coloured with Promarker pens. The backing paper is from another of the Craftwork Cards Subscription kits. To finish off I used a sentiment stamp from a Mama Elephant set.

Thank you for visiting me. I am not sure if I am going to be able to return the favour any time soon. I am at screaming point with work as our new member of staff has now resigned after only a couple of weeks so we are back to square one!! Hey ho...onwards and upwards!!

Until next time xx

Meg and Big Red

Hello my lovely crafty buddies. Hope you have had a good week and have a nice weekend to look forward to.

It's my turn to share some inspiration for

and this time it is in the shape of Meg and Big Red, only I have changed her into a grey chicken to blend with the MME papers!!

I have some new papers on the way so thought I had better try and use some of my older pads!! Between you and me, in the highly unlikely event that I live to be 200 years old, I won't even scratch the surface!! Anyhow,  she was coloured with Promarkers and I embossed the panel with a folder that came free with a magazine, back in the summer, to add some texture. The organza ribbon  was a perfect colour match for the mustard shade, and is lovely and soft so will squash quite nicely into an envelope for posting.

Thank you for your visit today xx

Think Pink with The Cutie Pies

I have a little bit of pinkness to share today. It is to inspire you to join us at

for our October challenge which is

Think Pink

I am sharing a card that I made, in all its pink gorgeousness, for a friend.

I used a cute LOTV rubber stamp, coloured with Promarkers, and Maja Design papers. I recently won a spend at Wild Orchid Crafts ( thank you again Sue xx) so made use of some of my newly acquired floral goodies to decorate this pretty card.

Hope to see you and your Cute Pink creations here.

Flowers or Ribbon

Hello bloggers. Hope everyone is happy and well. Nearly the weekend again so I am very happy!! I am sorry that I still haven't been a regular visitor. I am fed up with bleating about work but it's been relentless...I am hoping to finish with holiday and sickness cover some time in December!! I am missing so much time with my loved ones,  two and four legged and you guys too!!

Anyway today's offering is for the new challenge at

where we are eager to see your projects with ribbon or flowers...and don't forget to tell us why.

Normally I don't use either on my projects as I am a paper pad fanatic and like to let the papers do the talking!! However I have a chest of drawers full of ribbons  so had a rummage to find something to trim this snow globe. The stripe ribbon was in a bundle that I won from Crafty Ribbons and the bobble trim was lurking in the "red drawer" and seemed perfect!!

The background was quite technical for me!!  I admired a background that Inky Fingers Carol demonstrated here and decided to have a go ( having first purchased some drawing gum!!). Mind you my snowflakes look rather large so I must perfect my technique further I think!! There is also a lovely shimmer, as I unearthed my Twinkling H2o's as well so that was fun!! The penguin is a die cut chappy from Crafters Companion as was the snow globe actually.

Anyway I have rambled quite enough!! Hope you will join in!!

Hello lovely peeps. Nearly the weekend again, thankfully!! Before that though it is my turn to share another Sasayaki Glitter creation. This time it's Peggy.

How cute is she, sitting on her toadstool!! I coloured her with Promarkers, glittered her wings and used more of the wonderful Craftwork Cards Julie Loves Collection. Little Lucy gave me the pretty doily ( thank you xx) and I finished off with pearls and rolled roses from the papercraft kit too.

Christmas Animals

Hello blog land buddies.  It's new challenge time at

where your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to inundate us with Christmas cards showcasing cute animals....easy peasy!!

Here's mine, featuring a really cute polar bear from our sponsor

PINK GEM DESIGNS

I coloured the little darling with Promarkers and I think I am right in saying that the backing paper is from a Doodlebug pad. My glittery snow is by Marianne Designs and the sentiment from a new Crafters Companion stamp set.

I will see you on Thursday, until then, have a good one xx

AYLI Favourite Paper Pad

Hello everyone. Here I am to shout about the new challenge starting at

As You Like It

Your Favourite Paper Pad.

What???? I couldn't choose if my life depended on it!!  However...I somehow managed to subscribe to the Craftwork cards Julie Loves collections and have really been enjoying using these wonderful kits. I love the sweet Ditsy prints which I really like to use on my cards.

I used a couple of papers here to create a little background scene for Lazy Daisy. The cute little pair were coloured with Promarkers and I added a fence to finish the scene. We had a pony on the yard once that used to lie down when he thought he had worked hard enough,  rider and all!!

Before I go here are Surprise and I coming back from a walk a couple of weeks ago. She is much better now, thankfully.

Winter Mia

Hello friends, hope you are all safe and well.

I am back in Christmas mode and have Mia Winter to share with you. She is available here together with lots of other sweet images.
I coloured her with Promarkers. The papers are from my stash and I added some snowflakes using die cut glitter card. The Merry Christmas die is new and I am rather pleased with it...not too big yet not too fiddly either. Ooh and finished off with a few little pale blue pearls.

So, that is me for today. All very quiet here in Dorset which is just as we like it. It seems to have got a lot cooler though. I had to put away my cropped work trousers, which made me very sad, hopefully we will get an Indian summer in October when my holiday cover stint is over...can't wait!!

Favourite Cutie Image

Welcome to another new week and another new challenge at

The Cutie Pie Challenge

It's a rather special challenge as it's our 6th Birthday and for the occasion we have lots of sponsors, so many chances to win!!

I used an image from Bugaboo, one of said sponsors.

She was coloured with Promarkers to match one of the elements from Craftwork Cards August kit (which is scrummy!!). I used my favourite colour combination here, pink and turquoise...ish, my summer wardrobe is based around these colours and sadly soon to be packed away and replaced by winter woolies and boots!!
Anyway, less of that!! Hope you, and your Cute cards, will join us for our celebrations!!

See you later in the week. Until then take care xx

AYLI Flora or Fauna

Happy Thursday everyone. Hope you have had a good week. It's been lovely here in Dorset, although the mornings are so much darker so my early jaunts have been put back a bit, much to the disgust of our four legged family members.
Which brings me nicely to the theme for the new challenge at

As You Like It

We would love to see your projects featuring Flora or Fauna.

As you can see I chose Fauna...in every sense. Although I love my garden, when it comes to card making its animals and people that inspire me.

I bought this Clarity stamp quite a few years ago now and stamped and embossed it and it has sat in my "not quite sure what to do with" box ever since!! While flicking through my paper pad mountain, as you do, I came across deer backing paper and so my card idea was born.  Throw in a new embossing folder, bells and some ribbon and bingo...job done!!

I hope I have I managed to inspire you to join us.

Well, that's it for now.  Take Care xx

Under the Rain

Hello and welcome, it's me again, with yet another Sasayaki Glitter image for you.

It is New Release day today and this little lady is one of them. I do hope I am not tempting fate with the umbrella, as it has been positively gorgeous here in the UK for the past week. I hope it stays that way because I am not quite ready yet for muddy ponies and dogs on a daily basis!!

Anyway less babble...here she is...Under the rain

i used some old My Mind's Eye papers as the starting point here, mainly because of the perfect sentiment cut from the pad. She was coloured with Promarkers (I am not entirely happy with the umbrella, my Royal blue was quite dry and I didn't achieve a very smooth blend) and the sweetheart blossom balances the card quite well, I thought.

Well that's me for now. I don't think I will be troubling you, with any waffle, tomorrow. So until next time stay well and have a good weekend  xx

School Girl

Hellooo!! Can you believe that August is nearly over? It hardly seems like yesterday that it began. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that the older you get the quicker time whizzes by!! The summer holidays are drawing to an end which is why it is appropriate to share this little lady with you. Looks like she is back to school !! She is available at Sasayaki Glitter together with lots of other lovely images.

She looks rather nervous standing there with her brand spanking new backpack. Perhaps her Mum gave her a talking to, before she left the house, for wearing such a short dress!! My pretty papers came from The Works and being that they are vintage in style I decided to ink the edges with my favourite Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. Sbe was coloured with Promarkers to match. Although she is modern in style, I was still rather pleased with the end result.  This card didn't stay in my stock box very long. Connor nabbed it to give to one of his team at work who is off to University. I am reliably informed that she liked it too!!

On the subject of my offspring, we had a lovely few hours with Mollie and her Daddy and Mummy.  She met Surprise for the first time and sat on her too.

As you can see Mollie looks quite happy up there and the camera caught my best side!! I didn't realise my hair was quite that grey either!!
Anyway that's it for today. I will be back again tomorrow with a new release.
Until then xx

Cutie Christmas Couples

Hello all.  We have a Bank Holiday in the UK today so I hope lots of my British chums will be enjoying the last holiday until Christmas...which leads quite nicely to the reason for my post!!

Get out those stamps and raid the digi folders we are looking for

Cutie Christmas Couples at

My chosen image was stamped  using a retired Lili of the Valley rubber stamp. Who knows they might make an appearance in digi form in the future.

All together now.........aaaaah,  if they aren't cute I don't know what is!!

I coloured them with Promarkers using the necessary Christmas greens and reds and added a bit of Ruby Slippers  Nuvo Drops for the berries and a squirt of Stardust Stickles around the mat.  The holly leaves are my much used Cheery Lynn Christmas Holly Leaves, which get dusted off each year!!

Well, that's another to add to the Christmas box,  I hope to squeeze in a batch making session soon otherwise will find myself lacking of Christmas cards like I did last year...oops!!

You have a good few weeks to enter our couples challenge so see you there!!

Hope you have a lovely day. Mollie is bringing her Mummy and Daddy for a visit today so I am looking forward to that very much. Spare time has been in such short supply I have missed lots of cuddle time so hope to catch up today!!

AYLI Feathers or fur?

Hello crafty friends Hope you are well and looking forward to the weekend. Before that though it's challenge time at

Yes, it really has been two weeks!! This time the theme is

Feathers or Fur?

It has to be fur for me, I love the soft silky fur of our sprollies, the downy fur of Mo the yard cat and the smell of Surprise is intoxicating (strange but true!!). We have had hens in the past and Declan had a sweet budgie called Paddy,  who stayed with us when he left home but sadly you can't cuddle a bird!!

Anyway, here is my card featuring a furry fox!!

The image was part of a prize from Just Me and I had a lovely time browsing the images there. Do take a look if you have a spare moment. I coloured him with my Promarkers and used some Doodlebug paper that were perfect in colour. I used a tiny scallop edged die on the black mat under Mr Fox and I was pleased to find a wooden button in the exact same colours of the paper too.

So, I hope I have inspired you to join us with your furry or feathery creations!!

On the subject of fur, thank you to those of you who left such lovely comments about my Surprise. She had her seven weekly visit from my Farrier and as he is the person I trust the most in relation to her legs and feet, I was thrilled when he said that a full recovery is probable as long as I introduce work slowly, so I am back in the saddle at the weekend...yay!! Can't tell you how much I have missed it.

Thank you for dropping in xx
