AYLI Favourite way to add ribbon

Hello friends, Thursday again, sniffing distance of the weekend and another new challenge at

We would love to know your favourite way to add ribbon. I don't always use ribbon, but when I do I tie a bow ( in this case, seam binding) and attach to a length of the same ribbon wrapped around the card, as you can see below. It adds a bit of "pretty" without too much fuss.

I have made a get well card this time using some goodies from My Mum's Craft Shop, where there are currently bargains galore to be had!! I love fussy cutting images usually but could well be a convert having bought the die to match the gorgeous MFT stamp!! She was coloured with Promarkers to match the papers, as usual!! To add some definition I inked the edges of the papers too, must do that more often as I quite like the effect!!

Well, that is me for today. Thank you for your visit xx

CAS at Cutie Pie christmas.

Guess what...six months today it will be Boxing Day!! If you want to get ahead with your Christmas cards why not join in the new challenge at

the theme, out of my comfort zone a little, is

Clean Cute and Simple

I used the snowman from our sponsor Crafty Sentiments, who was coloured with Promarkers and then fussy cut.

I can't tell you how hard it was not to add some paper,  but I settled on my good old Cuttlebug embossing folder for a bit of interest, some twine and Mama Elephant tags and stamps...again. I gave him a black glittery nose too...as you do!!

See you soon  xx

Happy Birthday Mia

Good afternoon/morning, depending where you are in the world!! Get the kettle on and put your feet up, I am in the mood for a chat!!

To start with it's my turn to share a project to show off  the fab designs by Naz of Sasayaki Glitter and this time my make features

 Happy Birthday Mia.

I CASEd one of  a card collection, by Paula Holifield, that is featured in a current magazine and used some very old paper, it certainly  came from  one of the very first paper pads I ever bought when I dipped my toe into papercrafting...I am now, well and truly, submerged right up to my neck!! I will definitely use this layout again. The unfussy design really appeals to me and yet there is still space for some pretty paper.

For more inspiration you can visit here and here.

Thank goodness it's Thursday, it's been bedlam at work following my annual leave but I don't work on  Friday so it will be time to catch up at home again tomorrow!! Then I am doing holiday cover for a fortnight...:0 (  I sometimes question the logic of working part-time. Having to cover holiday means you don't really get any holiday at all, the perils of a small workplace I guess!!

Anyway, last Sunday seems like a long time and we had a lovely lunch with Mollie and her Daddy and Mummy!! She was fighting sleep the whole time until Grandad took his turn...he must have a very comfy knee because this happened!!

So that is me for today!!
See you soon xx

Oliver Texting

Hello friends. Hope this finds you well. We have had a lovely week and most definitely don't want to go back to work tomorrow...never mind, our next week off,  in September, will soon be here!!

I know I am not alone in struggling with cards for the male "flavour", particularly youngsters. However, I think I nailed it with this fab image from LOTV - Oliver Texting featured on a card for one of my cousin's boys.

I flipped him so that he was facing in the opposite direction and coloured him with Promarkers to match the MFT papers - Painted Prints. I inked the edges with Frayed Burlap and finished off with my favourite Mama Elephant Mini Messages and Mini Tags and a small grey pearl.

To round off our week we have been invited out for a Father's Day carvery, so looking forward to that...no cooking!!  My Dad will be very much in my thoughts today and if you can't be with yours either I hope you too have some happy memories to recall.

Have a good day whatever you are up to and as we are in the midst of a heatwave in the UK, stay safe in the sun xx

AYLI DT Favourite Fruit

Hi there crafty buddies, hope you are well and looking forward to the weekend. I am hosting over at

As You Like It Challenge

where we would love to see a project inspired by fruit, be it an actual fruit or that you have used the colour of a certain  fruit to base your project on.

Now I am partial to all sorts of fruit but my favourite fruit flavour is lemon...lemon drizzle cake, sherbet lemons, lemon cheesecake, lemon doughnuts, Thorntons lemon chocolates, lemon possett...need I go on!? Anyway, fuelled up by the thought of Lemon drizzle I got out my PB T for transparent set and made this...

I used a Tonic set for the card base and mats and covered them with Maja Designs Coffee in the arbour papers which I thought I should actually use instead of just looking at from time to time!! Coloured with Promarkers and glittered with Stickles and Wink of Stella. The sentiment was from the stamp set also and die cut with a rather lovely shaped set that I found in The Works.

Well that is me, I do hope you will be inspired and join us.

See you soon xx

All Creatures Great and Small - Cutie Pie DT

Monday again...yay...I am on annual leave this week and Martin is off too so lots of fun ahead...more of that later!!

It's time for our June Challenge at

new style blog badge

where the theme is All Creatures Great and Small.
Here is what I did using an image from our Sponsor, Bugaboo.

I sat and scratched my head while trying to plan this card and eventually used one of the old LOTV sketches, as I often do if mojo is lacking.  I used a new paper pad from Craftwork Cards, Julie Loves -  Daisy,Ditsy and Dotty Bundle and coloured the ever so cute bear, with Promarkers, to match. The flower was made using an old Die-namics Layered Rose set, matching card candi was stickled and I used my trusty Mama Elephant Mini tags dies & Mini Messages. You must have some cute creatures in your stash so it would be great to have you play along!!

So, back to our fun week...don't laugh!! We have a skip arriving later today as we have all sorts of accumulated farm stuff that is just too big to dispose of at the local Recycling Centre so it will be fun filling that!! On Wednesday we have a digger coming to do a bit of groundwork so that will be a couple of hours entertainment too and I can bark orders!! The rest of the week we are planning to eat out, walk the dogs (Martin) and ride Surprise (me), and generally enjoy some much needed time together that is not dictated by our watches.

Hope you have a fun filled week!!

Baking Time

Hello friends, Thursday again and another weekend sneaking up on us!!

I am here with my inspiration card for Sasayaki Glitter.

This little cutie is called Baking Time.

I must apologise for the quality of the photograph, my trusty camera is misbehaving so I had to use my mobile phone which I can never keep still enough for a crisp picture...but you get the idea!!

I love colouring these short haired little ladies, so much simpler than long flowing locks!! She was matched to some old papers that I found in my stash, I have a feeling they might be Dovecraft, but don't hold me to that!!

Hope you are all in good health, if not, I wish you better days xx

AYLI Favourite Reason

Hello lovely people. Don't these weeks just fly by? It doesn't seem possible that I am here shouting about another new challenge at

which is Your Favourite reason to send a card (other than a Birthday!!).

Other than Christmas, mine is a Just Because card which I make and send to friends that I haven't seen for a while or to those I haven't even met (but hope to!!). Let's be honest, there is nothing nicer than receiving a card totally out of the blue is there?!!

Like many, I am sure, I just had to have one or two (maybe a few more!!) of the newest LOTV images and I am so glad I chose this little darling as she was a delight to colour. I used Promarkers to compliment the papers that I picked up in The Works. I found the layout somewhere and cannot for the life of me remember where, so to whoever it was...I thank you!!

Right, that's me for this week. I hope you have a good weekend, when you get there. We have Mollie Rose's Christening, to look forward to, on Sunday so I hope the weather will stay reasonable for us. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Until next time xx
