Ribbon or Flowers at AYLI

It's time to share my As You Like It Challenge Inspiration with you. I can hardly believe it's time again. Anyway, your mission this time (should you choose to accept it!!) is

Flowers or Ribbon? and, as always, tell us why.

It's ribbon for me this time...the flowers can wait for another occasion!!

I probably have enough ribbon to circle the earth several times!! All colours, widths, patterns. You name it I probably have it!! What I love about ribbon is that it adds a little "something" to a card without the bulk so the finished article can still be easily posted.

The ribbon on this card was included in a mahoosive bundle from Crafty Ribbons that I won quite some time ago. It coordinated perfectly with the yellow daisy paper that was a scrap. The sweet bunnies were a freebie from Gerda Steiner that I coloured with Promarkers.

Looking forward to seeing what your favourite happens to be.
Thank you for visiting me xx

Butterflies

Hello everyone. I hope you had an enjoyable Easter Weekend. I am so pleased the weather was kind to us this year. We managed to get quite a few outside jobs done, which is always pleasing. I managed to grab myself some time to play, again inspired by Allsorts challenge, Blossoms, Butterflies and bugs and did this....

I recently treated myself to a couple of the new Crafters Companion Sentiment dies and worked the design around one of those and, of course, butterflies. The pretty papers are Maja Design that, until now, have been " look only" but come on...what is the point?!!!!! So I cut into them and am really pleased I did. I even love the pretty blue shade.

See you soon xx

Feature a "Cute" Creature

Hello everyone.

I hope you enjoyed the Easter Weekend and are full of chocolate and hot cross buns!!

My visit today is to share a card for

where the theme is Feature a Creature

Bugaboo is our sponsor and I chose to use Reindeer Blocks. I love the facial expressions on these sweet images and they were so easy to colour. Mats and layers of red cardstock and Marianne Designs paper were really all the image needed. Again, I wish I had made several of these in one go!! Perhaps I might have some time later.

See you soon xx

Moooo...

......that is bovine speak for Hello and Welcome!!

Wishing you a Happy and Peaceful Easter Weekend. Just in case you find yourself with some time to craft, how about colouring up an image and joining in at

All you need to do is share a card that has an image that has been hand coloured with your chosen medium. Here is my inspiration for you.

Cuddly Critters Cow from our Sponsor Dr Digi.

She was, of course, coloured with Promarkers...all the Cool Greys, a couple of Warm Greys, Putty, Sunkissed Pink and a touch of Coral. The mats were little pieces of scrap that were in my Bits Box/

Looking at her now, it looks like I forgot to "ground" the poor moo...ooops!!

I hope you enjoy the rest of the long weekend whatever you are doing.

See you the other side of the weekend with some Christmas cheer!! xx

Is that the Easter Bunny I see.....?

So, the morning animal duties are done, the laundry folded, dishwasher emptied and it is pouring with rain so here I am with a cute Easter card featuring a really cute image from Gerda Steiner Designs.

You can tell it's raining because the photograph is so bad, it looks much brighter and prettier in real life. The paper was another find in my bits box and looked suitably spring like to go with the sweet image that was coloured with Promarkers.

I hope you are having a good day xx

AYLI Favourite animal

It's all about your favourite animals this time at

Such a tough decision, but on this occasion I have chosen a really cute LOTV dog that I coloured with my Lyra pencils.

Mum and Dad were not dog lovers so until I met Martin I had never really known dogs. At that time his family had four on the farm who I soon got to know and love. When I gave up work to have Declan, 29 years ago, we bought a Springer Spaniel puppy of our own and we have not been without dogs since. I love their companionship, loyalty and the way our two make us laugh every day with their antics and that they help with my 10,000 steps a day!!

Looking forward to seeing your favourite animal.

That's all for now. Thank you for your visits and lovely comments, it is much appreciated xx

A little bit "Wordy"

Hello to you all.

I luckily found myself with a few minutes to indulge in some crafting. For one or other reason  I have missed playing along at Allsorts for a while so used their current theme "Sentiment in Focus" as my inspiration.

I have so many "wordy" stamps yet never play around to see what I can achieve with them. On this occasion I used a, little inked, Altenew set that I bought a few years ago and put it with a darling little stamp from a set that comes from The Cats Pajamas. The bunnies were coloured with Promarkers and I added some flowersoft to their tails. Not happy with the uber CAS look I found some doodle style stamps for the edges...that's much better!!

I had good intentions for this morning, gardenwise, but it is grey and rather chilly here so lawn mowing can wait until later when, I am assured, the sun is going to come out. Until then I am going to make some Easter biscuits!! Whatever you are doing I hope you have a good day.

See you tomorrow xx

New Beginnings

Woohoo...Monday again!! I hope this week has good things in store for you, I am  having the week before Easter off, so am very much looking forward to that.

Anyway, for now, let me encourage you to join in with the new challenge at

where the theme is NEW BEGINNINGS.

My creation was made using an image from our sponsor Bugaboo. The happy little family were coloured with Promarkers to coordinate with the sweet patterned paper that I found in my scrap box.
The Wild Orchid flowers made a perfect finishing touch.

I have new beginnings of my own. Yes, another "Add to Basket" episode!!

This is Wills who has joined the Wills family!! With a name like that we "had" to have him!! With my lovely Surprise enjoying her retirement, I found that I was missing our rides, so tentatively put a "wanted" ad on Facebook. Following a visit to the New Forest to meet and try this chap, I took the plunge and bought him. He has settled in really well and is proving to be a very kind and safe chap, which is very important in my advancing years!! I hope to enjoy 20+ years with him like I have with Surprise.

I look forward to seeing your own New Beginnings card.

See you soon xx
