AYLI - Favourite Colouring Medium

It is time for another new challenge at

where we are asking you to share your projects using your favourite colouring medium.
Many of you will know that I have a longstanding love of Promarkers. I have various sets from all the other well known brands of alcohol markers but never seem to get on quite so well with them as I do my Promarkers. They blend so beautifully and the colour families go so well together.

I made these cards to send to my cousins with a little gift following the loss of their Mum (my Auntie Jill) who suffered with dementia for many years. She was also my Dad's twin Sister so I like to think that they are now reunited after nearly thirty years of being apart.

I coloured one blue and one pink to go with the ceramic hearts that went with them from here (seriously if you are looking for a beautiful unique gift that won't break the bank, take a look at Sarah's work!!).
As is so often the case the colouring does not really show at it's best but I promise you that the backgrounds are coloured to match the pretty Marianne papers. The stamp is a Woodware one that I won in a challenge at Allsorts. Obviously coloured with Promarkers but I also stamped onto the patterned paper and cut the frame to stick on top. The Sent with Love sentiment was also a Woodware set that I found "yellowing with age" in a drawer...ooops!!

Lovely to see you today, hope you will have a minute or two to go and take a peep at what my teamies have done too!! xx

Hi Sarah, sorry to hear of the loss of your Aunt, your card is lovely and I'm sure your cousins will appreciate the thought.

I used to colour with ProMarkers but moved onto Copics, as much as I loved my ProMarkers there is just something about Copics that speaks to me!

I also have several yellowing (also in my case un-used) stamps in my craft drawers. Ooops! Sarah

What a lovely pair of cards, understated and perfect for the occasion Sarah. I could never get on with Promarkers, Copics always seemed to be easier to blend for me but the world would be a strange place if we all had the same ideas!:)

Sad that you lost your aunt with Dementia. It is a horrible illness I know, as I lost my Mum with it and now my eldest sister is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's. Your cards are beautifully coloured Sarah, but I do prefer Copics for many reasons. Love the flowers and such a pretty design. Big hugs, Carol S.xxxx

So sorry for your loss, Sarah. It is a nice thought to know that they will be reunited. Your cards are beautiful. I love the soft colours you used. I think I feel about my copics the same way you feel about your promarkers. The only thing is that I don't have many varied sets, so I tend to stick with what I know and work well with :-)
Hugs,
Lena

Sorry to hear of the loss of your Aunty. Nice to think she's reunited with her twin brother, your daddy, there's comfort in those thoughts. Both your cards are so beautiful. The papers are gorgeous and the way you've stamped straight onto the paper and then layered the image on top, works perfectly. Two beautiful creations, sure to be well received, especially with the lovely Folksy heart decoration. Hugs, Wends xoxo
