Feathers, Fur or Scales?

Good Morning peeps. Well what a scorcher it has been here in the UK. Thank goodness it's cooled down a bit, I was panicking that my HRT patch might slide down my leg and out of my sandal while I was in Aldi!! 😄 Our poor animals weren't very impressed either. Martin was hosing down the ponies on Monday while I was in an air conditioned office (small mercies!!) and Bowie and Bumble just didn't know what to do with themselves. Anyway, it's passed and, lets be honest, us Brits do love to chat about the weather!!

I have a furry squirrel to share with you today. It's my  AYLI DT inspiration for you.

Our theme is Feathers, fur or scales? I am not a big fan of the former. I think I might have mentioned before that my Grandma used to let her budgies fly free around her living room. They used to scare the life out of me so feathers is definitely out. Scales.....Yuk!! So something warm and furry suits me just fine. I love my Sprollies' silky ears and there is nothing quite like the smell and feel of the velvet muzzle of a horse. I have never been in close proximity to a squirrel but I imagine that tail is soft and furry!! The cute image was from our Sponsor, Lee Holland Illustrations, and I coloured him with my Promarkers. The ombre pad jumped into my basket while I was wandering around in The Range looking for something else!!

That's all for today.

See you soon xx

Your ombre background is the perfect colour for this beautifully coloured image, love the summery/autumnal tones, hubby used to have chipmunks and their for and tails were like silk.

Very autumnal Sarah! The colours are just right for the moment though as the grass is scorched straw! Mention of mowing earlier this week so its bound to rain!!! Glad you and yours survived, my son had the hottest night on record Monday to Tuesday of 26.7! Not good with a tiny one to cope with. :)

It was stressful for our animals, we laid wet towels over ours throughout the day and did seem to cool them - google gets some things right.

Love Squirrels so of course this ticks all the boxes for me.

Glad you survived the hot weather. It didn't quite reach us in my part Scotland. I do love red squirrels, they are so cute. Elaine

Aww what a cutie and beautifully coloured too. I find stuff accidentally ends up in my basket in the Range craft section as well ;)

That background paper is gorgeous and your colouring on that cute 'soft' squirrel is perfect! Not surprised by your choice on this! I must get my act together and come play along soon. Have been missing playing along with some of my favourite challenges. Hugs, Wends xoxo

Hehehe, don't you just love it when crafty supplies jump into your basket? :-) Happens to me all the time :-) I love your Squirrel image and how you coloured it. I have about 4 to 6 squirrels that visit my garden every day. I've even put out a little feeder for them. That way they tend to leave the bird feeders alone. They are so cute to watch. Some have really furry and fluffy tails. One of them has a little scrawny ratty kinda tail, thus the name Mr Ratty Tail. There is also Mr Chubby Cheeks, Mr White Belly and Mr Greedy. Yes, I've name these four. Can't really tell the others apart :-) And now that I've written a novel instead of a comment, I'll leave by saying that I love your card and that the ombre background is perfect to showcase your Mr Squirrel :-) Enjoy the rest of your week. Big hugs, Lena

What a cutie! I love the way you have colored him and his dotty background. The sparkle on the bee is just the right touch. I do hope you all settle into a more normal weather pattern, or maybe that's not the right term since normal seems to be changing drastically.
