Celebrations at The Cutie Pie Challenge

The theme at The Cutie Pie Challenge this week is

CELEBRATIONS

so we would love to see your cute cards for any event with cause for celebration.

I am using Christmas Banner Grace from our sponsor Pink Gem at Polkadoodles. I intended being lazy and using the pre-coloured version but since a Windows update a week or so ago, I can only print grayscale or black and white so a coloured image it was!! I also spotted a wiper card tutorial so decided to put Grace on the front of one. In my haste I think the wiper works the wrong way but never mind!!

The holly papers were free with a magazine many years ago and I coloured the image with Promarkers to match. It is a miracle that I managed a card at all, I had got my DT diary all back to front last week...nightmare!! Still, all is well and here I am.

I think I am back later in the week so see you then xx

Colour Crazy Craft Challenge

Hello lovely people, hope this finds you well and looking forward to the weekend. I have had a hectic week, workwise, so am looking forward to a lie in, in theory!! My word the mornings have been so dark and as Surprise is stabled at night all year round I have really noticed the drop in temperature this week as I have been mucking out. Still, it has been a lovely summer.

So, something a little bit different from me today. My longstanding visitors will know that my style is normally  cute. The image I have used was given to us by the sponsor (Ikes Art) of the latest challenge at

Colour Crazy Craft Challenge

This is the gorgeous Athena looking very regal so I used purple (not a big fan really) and teamed her with gold for a touch of opulence. I was so pleased with the finished result. Even the hair was okay!!

In fact...here is a real eyeful!!

Since the "accidental purchase" of #2 pony earlier in the year I have tried to be good and restrict my crafty spends on essentials only...I fell off the wagon a bit and "invested" in some Hunkydory flower dies and boy, am I glad I did, they are sensational!! Lots of mileage in these I am sure!!

It would be lovely if you could join us, always Anything Goes as long as you share a hand coloured card...simples!!

I hope you have a lovely weekend and look forward to having a catch up with you soon xx

How do you text? - AYLI

Hello everyone.

I am sharing this card to inspire you to join in at

where we are interested to know how you add text to your cards.

I am sure I am not alone in saying that I have drawers full of sentiment stamps but can never find one that is quite right...sound familiar!? So quite often I am saved by a computer generated sentiment mounted on complimentary board.

I used an image from our sponsor Polkadoodles and she is called Glass Half Full.
I used First Edition papers Wanderlust as my starting point and coloured her with Promarkers to match.

I am not sure what posessed me to choose an image with lots of hair as I struggle so much with it. However, I am relatively pleased with my efforts. When the darker nights arrive I might enrol myself on a colouring course.

I hope you will join us.

See you soon xx

Pink and girly handbags

Hello friends. I hope my fellow Brits were able to enjoy the Bank Holiday yesterday. Blessed with dry weather too which doesn't happen that often!! As Monday is a normal working day for me it means that I get a one day working week which is also very pleasing!!

As promised here I am with a card that I put together for a couple of challenges that grabbed me. I have had a little sort through my stash and found a fair few unused items including the stamps I have used today. So my mission is to use or rehome anything that has been gathering dust.

A square card as usual covered with some paper that came from The Range. I used a very old Martha Stewart border punch for some detail and all the stamps used are part of a Craftwork Cards set from here

The message was heat embossed and I have coloured the smaller handbags and paper pieced the large one and then used glossy accents. Although not cute, I actually like this one!!

Before I go I have a couple of snaps that I took on my early morning walk with the hairy kids. There is the feel of autumn in the air and the blackberries are starting to appear.

See you soon xx

Let's build a snowman!!

I don't think there is much chance of snowman building here in the UK today, the forecast is for a very hot and sunny Bank Holiday Monday. I am hoping to have already ridden before this post goes live, to avoid the heat.

To get back to the matter in hand, I am doing really well with my Christmas cards this year, I think that being on a Christmas Challenge Design Team helps too. Today's little fella is for

where we are building snowmen. Bugaboo is our sponsor and I used a chap from this set.

It is a 5x5 card for a change so I kept the design simple using only silver mirri board for contrast to the spotty paper from here. The sentiment was with the image. The cute little pair were coloured with Promarkers and of course Star Dust glitter had to feature.

So if you have time during the next three weeks be sure to ink up a snowman or two and join us!!

Hope the coming week will be a good one for you. I might just be back tomorrow since a challenge or two have caught my eye over the weekend.

Until then xx
