Allsorts Anything But Square

 Lorraine is hosting at

and her optional theme is Anything but Square.

We have another family Birthday, this time Grandson Jackson who is a whole ONE year old next week.

I made this card for him using a combination of stamp sets, a sheet of Marianne Designs striped paper, a free balloon die and a lovely DL Aperture die set from Craft Stash.

He really is a cheeky monkey so that little primate was just right!!

Looking forward to seeing what you make!!

Have a lovely weekend xx

AYLI - Gems or Pearls

Hello friends and visitors, it's lovely to have your company today. Isn't January romping by, a month ago since Christmas and galloping towards my Mum's Birthday in February.

It's a perfect oppurtunity to share her card as my DT piece for the new challenge at

where, this time, the theme for you is Gems or Pearls (with your reason).

I am a pearly kind of gal and tend to use mainly white or cream pearls on my makes. I love the subtle, elegant sheen that they add to a card.

It's a "special" Birthday for my Mum, she's going to be 80.

With Amethyst being the birthstone for February I based my card around a purple theme. The purple satin cardstock that I used for the mats and 80 was a giftbox and just the right colour.
The adorable LOTV stamp was coloured with Promarkers and her wings were twinkled with Star Dust, of course!! She's rubber but you may still be able to get her in digi from here.

I hope you will come along and join in.

See you on Saturday xx

Allsorts - January Blues

I am hosting at Allsorts Challenge this week and I chose January Blues as the optional theme.

Our sponsors are Polkadoodles and Oakwood

Blue is not a colour that I usually reach for so it was actually a challenge to myself and I really enjoyed making this card. I used another of Jules' Sketches #49 that was perfect for using up bits from my scraps pile.

The stamp set I used is Concord & 9th Winter Wear that is available here if you fancy it. I coloured her with Promarkers and used one of the accent stamps in two shades of blue as a background.

I made a bit of a boo boo and didn't die cut the circle large enough so stamped and cut out the scarf seperately and mounted it with foam pads. I like that look.

I hope that you will pay us a visit at the challenge blog and join us.

Wishing you a good weekend whatever you are up to xx

Allsorts - Make your own background

I have an extra special card to share with you today.

The optional theme at

is to make your own background.

I used lengths of ribbon to make this extra special, purple, shiny, sparkly card for Mollie Rose who is the grand old age of seven on Monday. Not quite sure how our baby Grandaughter has grown so quickly but she certainly has!!

She is a massive fan of all things purple so I gathered together all my purple ribbons and using double sided sheets stuck them down. I drew and hand cut the number seven into shiny purple mirri card (which I managed to photograph without glare!!) and used super sparkly glitter to hide the not so neat cutting. TODAY was die cut and the inny of the number seven was stuck inside.

I hope she likes it!! And I hope you will join us this week, our sponsors are

I will leave you with the upcoming Birthday Girl with her little Brother and Grandma (me) at Christmas.

Thank you for sharing your day with me xx

AYLI - Favourite Paper Brand

Hello peeps, I hope this week is being kind to you.

It's time to kick off a year of Challenges from

and I am hosting the first one. It's a theme very close to my heart....PAPER!!
My long time followers will know that I have a longstanding obsession with paper pads. Wherever I go, if there is a 6 x 6 pad of gorgeousness it will find it's way home with me!!

Back at the start of my crafty journey my very first paper pad was from My Minds Eye and I seem to have many from that brand that really ought to be used up.

This one is So Sophie, Graceful and has such a lovely deep but soft colour palette.

I used one of Jules' new rectangular sketches, it's #1 of her ever growing rectangle series. (Thank you x)

The Inkylicious stamp (A Good Life) was heat embossed in black on to one of the papers.
You can see the lovely glossy finish below.

I hope you will feel inspired and rediscover a long lost paper pad that's just crying out to be used.

See you on Saturday xx

Sentimental at The Cutie Pies

Good Morning everyone and welcome to a lovely new week.

I might actually be working my notice at

because I didn't see Boss Lady Lisa's post on the DT blog until last night...oops. Sorry :0/

The theme is Something Sentimental (and cute of course)

Anyway, I had a look in my unblogged card file and found this one, no cute image I am afraid but the sentiment is the star of the show and the paper is ditsy so could pass as cute...right?!!

I am hoping that this will save my bacon!!

I hope that you will feel inspired and remember that your card needs to be cute.

I will try and be a better Cutie Pie for next time!!

See you later in the week xx

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year everyone and I wish you all health, wealth and crafty happiness in 2024!!

Before I share my make for today I just want to say a BIG thank you to you all that sent cards, gifts and good wishes for Christmas and the New Year xx

We've had a lovely little christmas break at Allsorts over the festive period and we are back today revived and raring to go!!

Lynn has chosen a terrific mood board to inspire you

and here is what I made using

Candy Cane Stripes and Winter Florals as my inspiration.

I've been dabbling with junk journals and other paper based projects and used this freebie from Pink Monarch Prints. It's an unusual way to present a gift card and was a print, cut and stick sheet. I didn't have a gift card to use, so improvised!!

Sponspors are AALL and CreateCraft StashPolkadoodlesOakwood

I look forward to seeing how you interpret the optional challenge.

Thank you for visiting today, with the festivities over I fully intend to catch up with you all soon.

Have a lovely weekend xx
